I mounted a 3.5'" Autogage Tachometer on the left-hand side of my dash in the '93 GT and i want to wire it to my headlight switch. I have read many ways to wire this type of tachometer but wiring it to the headlight switch is the easiest for me

tach- 4 wires- red, black, green, white

Tach wire Headlight switch wire
Red -> Tan/White
Green -> Crane Ignition
White -> Light/Blue Red (The tester light dims when i dim the dash light)
Black -> Black (ground)

Would this be an acceptable way to wire it?

I may be wrong but I believe the red wire from the tach should be hooked up to a switch wire so when you turn on the ignition you have voltage on it as long as the car is running the rest of the wires look right to me. That's how I did my tach, red wire to switched hot wire ,green wire to negative side of coil, white wire to headlight switch, black wire to ground .
