......

The Tach in my 89 5.0 LX just started acting up today.

The needle sorta sticks as it climbs and will NOT go past 4800RPMs. :nonono:

BTW, this hapened after I changed the thermostat and reset the timing.

Where is the input to the Tach located ?? Is it possible I bumped a wire loosed somewhere ??

That's what you get for having all those mods and still using the stock tach. :chair: The tach input is on the coil. Not very likely you messed it up doing Tstat and timing, wrong side of the bay. They are pretty sensitive though, it just takes one little arc in the wrong spot to burn them up. Mine sticks at 2800 anytime the key is on, even if the engines off. It wasn't ever right anyway. Just get an AutoMeter.

Wow, I didn't even pay attention.
One thing... I don't drive a Mustang. I have a 5.0L Ranger, does that matter?
Strange thing with my P/S is that I removed it from a 4000lb 4wd truck. But everyone tells me I'm a bit crazy anyways.
I'll have to check out the local boards. Thanks
