Tail lights

My fear really is that with the color of my car they will look stupid. I'll just get a set and see how it looks. Either way I gotta get whatever I use painted. My stockers are peeling and the stock red is showing.

393 how's your car run on the 30's?

they work fine with the stupid E7's:rolleyes: I plan on getting a good set of heads sometime this year & possibly even throwing a turbo on it to so the 30#'s will definently be history then..... The 30#'s would probably be fine with good heads also but I don't want to risk it. I have the FP set @ 40# & my A/F's are around 12.5 @ WOT, so they aren't too small.....yet:)

For some reason i feel it depends on the spoiler... with an s281 i feel like there is a need for the vert tails... i just like them better.... if you cant tell the difference in sound from my car to a non pi gt.... you wont know what year my car is anyway:shrug:

Here is a list i have made:

S281- vert tails
stock or crab claw- horizontal
s351- horizontal
Big hunka metal 8 ft off the car- big hunka ****ty alteza lights

Aesthetically speaking, my issue with the horizontals has always been the paint in between the 3 skinny lights. I felt like I would like it more if there was less paint and more light... Then I saw these (see pic) Has anyone ever tried these?

I may be wrong...but thats just our light without any paint on it. If you strip your current lights, then sand/polish em up....thats what you will have.

I like the verticals, b/c they're more true to the original 3 vertical bars of the first gen stangs.

That said, I'm keeping my horizontals cuz I don't want anyone confusing my car with one of them new-fangled OHC cars...:nice:

My car came with the '96 tails. So I got these for that very reason.

Then I changed out the exhaust and figured if the person can't tell it's a 5.0 by the sound, hood decals, or '94-'95 GT fender badges, they prolly don't care. lol

I remember being in 6th grade when the '96's came out, and I thought they had nailed the Mustang look with the verticals. I didn't know much about engines then, or I prolly wouldn't have been as excited about the '96's. :D
