taking apart my 94 cobra 5.0

I would talk to Thumper about porting your GT40 heads, mine look awsome. and for the people who have gt40 stuff stock its a nice cost/benifit.

I had Tmoss port my explorer lower.

no numbers yet as I need to do a few little things first. and it has rained the last 4 days I have had off.

The reason I am posting Thumper and Tmoss is well you need someone who knows what they are doing, you can realy mess up a set of heads or an intake if you dont know what your doing.

blksn95 is absolutely correct. I was thinking about porting my edelbrock intake when I bought it but decided against it. There are too much flow related knowledge that I dont have that I wasn't confident enough to do it. And porting stuff bigger isn't always better.

Tmoss and Thumper both port for very good prices. And since theve done it so repetitivly they can have them ported and back to you in a good amount of time. (Me remembering polishing my intake, let alone trying to port something and having it flow well.)

Here are some pics of the ported GT40 heads,

Yea with all the technology today I would go to someone with experience and also I recommend getting them tested on a flow bench afterwards and possibly before too. Thats the only real way to know if you have gained anything...

those look great, how much increase are you expecting .I t would be cool if Thumper could contact me..any idea of cost and shippping? thanks

I am keeping my hopes on the conserv. side, I just want a sound motor that has a bit extra. However, with the unported GT40's,tfs1 cam, and stock unported lower I got a 13.6 or was it 13.5 @102mph N/A. I hope to be around 12.8 at least with a good 60ft. and low 12's high 11's on a 175 shot of n2o. Some people I know that have seen the parts are telling me I am being too conserv. and I may bust out a mid-low 11. I would be 100% content with my consev. wishes.

Why cant Thumper contact you? from your post that is how I read it. Shipping was like 100-150ish if I remember from STL. MO to his place in FL.(I think that was round trip but cannot remember)and back. Turn around was about a week door to door. You can look on UPS.com and get an est. on shipping I think the heads were like 55lbs or so. As far as cost on his work, do a search on Thumper460 or thumper he has a link in his sig. Or try this,

Thank you, i plan on taking care of the motor myself,if i screw something up ,what the hell, but i have confidence and it sounds like fun..i have till spring and i am drivin my 94z 28 complete with snows till then...i believe I will excell at this [providing i lay off the suds while doing it}even then I'll post pics when done ..or not.

By taking care I hope you mean assem. the motor parts thats cool, but I would suggest taking the heads to someone who knows what they are doing for the port work.

If you want to learn I would start off on a set of e7 from a junker/yard, and rock out and have fun building YOUR car the way you want. I am sure you can get some good info if you asked and looked around.
