Taking cats off my x pipe.Have some questions.

I have a catted x pipe with magnaflow exhaust.I want my exhaust to be louder so I was thinking about taking the cats off.Will my car be much louder or will I hardly notice anything?Do you think it will sound good or like *****?Also will I gain an hp by taking the cats off?

It will be louder... buddy of mine just had an off road X and becuase of emmisions he went and got an X pipe with cats... made it much quieter. You should pick up a little hp getting rid of the cats even if they are high flow. Magnaflow mufflers are typically quiet anyways.. I have them on my car too.

Thats really hard to say.. Depends on mods.. I woulndt think it would be a huge gain. 10-15hp? Anyone else got any guesses for him?

I would say 3-10 HP somewhere in the powerband. It's probably not enough to notice (SOTP wise). Probably more torque in the upper rpm's.
