Taking the shaker 1000 unit out of the dash

You need a Philips screwdriver and a 7mm nutdriver or ratchet/socket with extension.

Open center console and remove 2 Philips screws near rear. Pull up on the trip where the screws went through and keep doing so until you can wiggle the gearshif boot beneath the console. Make sure the parking brake is FULLY engaged to make this easier.

The trim that runs up the center bezel on either side will unclip if you pull it straight towards the rear of the car.

6 7mm bolts hold in the center bezel. Remove them. NOW BE CAREFUL- there are 2 wiring harnesses which must be unhooked before you can pull the center from the dash. On the left, look in from the driver's floorboard and you'll see one that has a standard clip holding it. Pry slightly with your fingers or a small bladed screwdriver and pull it straight towards the firewall. On the passengers' side, there's a similar harness, but its removal is trickier. Shine a light in to see it. There will be a small grey-colored lever. Slowly work that lever upward while pulling that plug towards the firewall. It works better for me if I pinch either side of it instead of lifting the center.

Once that is out, pull at the center bezel from the bottom, and it will almost pop out, revealing the three plugs for TCS, power point, and ICAP reset (if equipped). These have easy to unplug harnesses.

The radio comes out with 4 more 7mm bolts. Pull out enough to get your hand behind it and release three plugs and the antenna.

Try to remember to hook up all the harnesses when putting it back especially the ones I bolded. Those are your climate controls. It's a bitch to drive home at night in the rain with no defroster
