I'm thinking about getting one. I'll have $1K in June to blow so I guessing why not my steering blows. My PS control valve doesn't work, the steering box is junk. I can turn my steering wheel 1/4 turn each direction before the tires move.

Any word on the Randalls rack reputation ? They have power racks right ? The total control products is just too much money.

I just read an article about a true bolt-in rack made by Flaming River. Supposedly no welding or modifications to the chassis are needed. Its in the latest issue of Mustangs and Fords. I think they said it sold for 995.00

isn't randall's a center take-off? if it is, it has better bump steer characteristics...
flaming river's and tcp's are both end take-offs i believe...
isn't flaming river's setup having problems with headers? do you have headers?
randall's shows pics w/headers
too bad they don't make one for a 69...

Tcp and radall are center take-offs... something there just looks weak to me, like it would flex... id rather have an end take off, but alais the flaming riv wont fit with my headers...

tcp is an center take-off, randells is a center also, flaming river is a side take-off.

flaming river has unresolved serious exhaust clearance issues, and lack of a power unit.

randalls rack is a center take-off, with a center link that is much different than what TCp uses, he used to offer both styles of center links and might still, the original was similar in design to what sixto was working on, speed direct should have their units ready to go in a few months, they are building what sixto originally designed

Flaming River now has an adjustable crossmember with an additional U-Joint and other modifications to allow the system to work with several types of headers.

personally i'm waiting for the speed sirect kit to come out and then i will decide between that and randall's kit, so far i'm leaning towards randall's. if you get one of randall's let me know how you like it

Such as flowtechs? Do these mods come with the rack kit now, or do they have to be specially ordered.

I sent Randalls an email a few weeks ago, but im sure they are too busy to respond. Does anyone know if they sell NONPOWER rack and pinion units?

Flaming river is suppose to have a kit out anytime now that will allow the use of headers with their rack and pinion kit.

anyone know what the Flaming River stuff is / will be going for ? They didn't show any prices. Wonder if it will be comparable to the Randalls Rack -

BTW - allcarfan a buddy of mine who's into auto aftermarket parts told me a week ago he came across a shop where he could get a set of 17in Edlb.454's for $74 each ! They had a few sets stored. He may buy them, and put them on e-bay

lol. that's cool but I don't doubt it. He always comes through w/ amazing deals. I may get a couple for a spare for in case I ever wrecked on of mine. Maybe I'll get some to sell if he doesn't Glad ya like the bullets -

I'm thinking the Randalls rack is looking just fine to me. This won't ever be a race car anyway. Just want it to drive niiiiice. I just can't imagine spending over a grand on this. I may get the p/s pump they reccomend too

Anyone know what the Flaming river rack will sell for ?

I have been following this and other threads for quite a while. I have a 69 that is also in desperate need of steering fixes. Flaming River has header issues and is not available with power steering. Speeddirect is not available yet and who knows if and when it will be for a 1969. Total Control is $2000 plus $600 for the pump. Then there are the junkyard options like when cheapsk8 put a Taurus R & P in himself. Randall's rack is all that is available for a reasonable price. I am right with you, Bnickel, but I don't want to wait for Speeddirect. ( I also want to hear about your AOD in a 69). I will probably be ordering a Randalls system in April.

And what are Edlb 454's? I assume a wheel of some type by the dimensions?
