Made a few stops yesterday and picked up the following so as to not have to paint these items:

Both door panels
Both window switch bezels
Both door handle cup bezels
Steering wheel collar..top and bottom
Pair of door handles.
Glove box

$160 for all of those items.

Finished painting Pass side today

Before:

After Today:

Installed glove box..painted and reinstalled door sills.

Note that the glove box is NOT painted. The way you see it is how it is...compare it to the black around it. This weekend we will finish the driver's side and install the door panels. Then, clean it up a bit and start driving it more while I save some money to do the leather seats.

I was looking into it.

If you shoot me a link of 2 or 3 of the ones you think are nice for the price I will get them. I saw a few but I dont know which ones I like. Dont want to go TOO fancy on these, and I dont want my foot slipping off of them.

Thanks

LOL...it's NEVER "it"

Here's our list for Sat:

-Remove Radio and connect new internal radio antenna--need ground and 12v
-Finish all the painting of inside...have to remove SW again for that.
-Change out Door handles.
-Exchange Door panels to the black ones.
-Get horn working.
-Install Washer Fluid Bottle.

THEN in the next couple weeks get an alignment and A/C charged and start driving it in the cooling down weather.

Thanks

It's coming together nicely, RC! Did you end up hitting the JY again for all that?

There is a local JY that is NOT a U pick. It is only for stangs, camaros and firebirds. It's a little more money but they have everything. I got a black Steering wheel collar--top and bottom-- and the 2 door handles.

The Door panels, door bezels, window bezels and glove box were found on Craig's list from a local guy...all for $100...didnt have to pay to ship, just about $8 in gas.

Davis...pedals look nice.

Can you do me a favor and look on UPR's site and see if there are any there that are good? I have to place an order for a few things from them, and I can save on shipping since theyre not too far from me.

Thanks
RC

I should have clarified something. I saw all the ones at UPR, so I didnt mean for you to 'find' them for me and post the links. I just wanted you to look at them and tell me if YOU would use any of those listed there or if they were half decent.

I dont want any that have no rubber on them.

Thanks

FINISHED TODAY...Except Seats.

Here is the completed work:

OF COURSE, there is NEVER not a hitch

First, the $100 Door panels I bought were from a car that did NOT have a Mach 460 system, so there was not cut out on the top for the speakers....Luckily it was fairly simple to cut them with a sheet metal blade and jig saw. I NEVER would have thought to check that.

Second, The Door handles I got for a GOOD junkyard were both from a Pass side handle. The guy will exchange it for me, but for now I painted it and will see how it holds up since it is a PITA to take the door panels back off.

ENjoy.

Looks awesome man! Maybe it's just me but I think having the a/c vents and center trim piece painted red makes the interior look kinda cheap. The rest of the interior looks so nice and I think it's just a focal point that your eyes are automatically drawn too. (sorry for all this art school bull**** haha) Besides that, the rest looks amazing, I wish I had the time, patience, and funds to do that right now.

Few things about your comment.

1. Im comfortable enough here to welcome all opinions, so that's cool. If we ALL liked the SAME things, ALL our cars would look alike.

2. I dont know if you saw my previous threads, But Im going with some leather seat covers (not slip ons, actual covers)

I think if you were to picture these seats in the car, the red will balance (IMO) what's on the seats. Right now the ONLY red is the accents of what you are seeing.

3. Jose (Str8stang) that helped me with it actually liked the red look.

Right now Im about 50/50 with it, but since it's a lot of work to change it back, I will wait until I put the seats in to make a decision.

THANKS DAVIS for the Inspiration to do this
RC

Nice, I have the same interior and was thinking about doing the black conversion too. The bullit pedals are nice, I have them and they are as grippy as the stock pedals.

Looks great.

The only thing I hate about the black on black like I have is that under the hood and on interior you really only have black to use...its nice but sometimes it helps make things stick out more if there is some color to contrast.

Vents and anything else you can always paint black if you want to later.
