I am trying to determine where to tap my water neck outlet for a painless wiring temperature switch. Can I tap it in the recessed dimple? The sensor is 3/8" and comes with a 1/2" adapter I believe. I think the dimple is wider than 1/2". Has anyone here tapped a stock water neck before?

Thanks!

I have checked the Autozone website. They have the Mr. Gasket listed with the tap already in it, but it states that it is unavailable. It won't let me order it and says that it is not available at any of the locations near my home. The only other one they sell is a standard type replacement.

Ok, finally found an old post in a Corral Forum which said this water neck is tapped. It doesn't say it in the description, though. Does this look like the right one?

Thanks.

drill and tap yours, 9/16" bit and 3/8" NPT tap. The one from AZ is most likely cast iron and will rust.

i got one from napa that seemed to be pretty nice it was a doorman one .it cost 13$ . or if you have acces to a drill press ,drill and tap yours ,i did that to my original one .the only reason i replaced it was the flange was warped and it would leak .
