TB & Plenum Questions

I am in the process of doing a rebuild with bolts on and want to know if Accufab tb & plenom combo is worht the money and the power or is there another combo i can go with. Mods going along with the tb & plenum are hitech stage two cams, mac long tube headers, mac oR H, jlt CAI, ford racing 3.73 gears, u/d pullies, and well will be tuned using 93 octane.

I bought a Stack Racing 75 mm TB for less than $100 on sale. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and I can't imagine how a $400 TB is any better.

Same goes for the plenum; my plenum is built into the blower, but I've heard good things about the C&L plenum. And it's cheaper than the Accufab.

My local performance shop always has good things to say about accufab. He says in his 15+ years he has never had a customer come back and complain about accufab parts. I like mine and don't regret buying it. That being said, yeah you pay the extra money, the gains are minimal over the competition, it is your call.

Here is the most decent comparison test of just the plenums between the major brands that I know of (accufab wins by a little over 1 rwhp vs. other aftermarkets):
The Plenum Showdown Part II

IMO, it is not worth the extra money over any other aftermarket plenum/throttle body. Unless you are really into appearance, then the Accufab is by far the best looking. I am using a 75mm Professional Products tb and TrickFlow plenum and it works fine. I paid less than $200 new for the combo.

Agreed. The TB's and plenums will perform very similar to eachother. Accufab did edge out the others in that test if I remember correctly, but I'll find the 1.2hp somewhere else for an extra $200 some-odd dollars.

If you want a show piece, it is definitely nice. I'm more into the TrickFlow or BBK black plenums, but that's personal preference.

I'm also using a 75mm PP throttle body. It's very smooth, no fitment issues. I have an RPM (C&L knockoff) plenum. Aside from the terribly cheap casting (doesn't matter, no moving parts) it's fine aside from a little bit of the lip that needs to be opened up for a clean flow from the throttle body. I ended up painting mine black and grinding the paint off the letters "RPM". Oddly enough they now sell it like that, lol.

Yeah ACCUFAB isn't worth the money IMO. Of course, unless you're going for a totally polished bay. If so, stack racing offers the same polished pieces. I'm going with the C&L with probably one of the cheaper 75mm TB's, maybe a stack racing or professional products.

I went with Accufab with the 75tb, I wanted chrome. 400 bucks probabbly buys you 1/2 hp over other $100 brands.

its all about cost to performance ratio. a cheaper plenum and t/b would be fine if you dont care about looks.
