Looking for some answers.

I am building a 66' conv. It is a restro. I am trying to decide what suspension to use. What do you guys think of the TCI. I am concerned about cost and performance. This car is geting a 4.6 and a six speed. I have to make this decision this week. Thanks.

TCI, that is who I am going to go with. Dollar for Dollar it is the best setup IMHO. If you have a larger pocket book and are willing to go an even "less bolt-on" look into an Art Morrison Sport Subframe.

Well, I just bought a 01' cobra for a donner car. It has IRS so I am considering using that in the 66' instead of the 3link that is coming from TCI. I talked to them about it and they said I could make that work with there setup but would not use the coil over.

Has anybody done this? Used a late model IRS in a early stang? I think the problem will be the with of the rear weather or not it can be shortened or not.

Thanks

I've got the TCI torque arm on my 68 convertible and love it. It's not perfect, but I'm 95% there and now it's just a matter of tuning.

Before that I tried just about every combination of shock/spring and sway bar known to man. I could not find anything I was satisfied with. Convertibles just aren't as strong as coupes/fastbacks. Too much flex in the middle even with subframe connectors.

The TCI system ties nicely into the convertible floor pan and really strengthens the chassis. It was a PITA to remove my GW subframe connectors, but the TCI piece is much stronger.

If you go with IRS, you should put a lot of thought into how you are going to keep the chassis from twisting.
