ok guys...i might need a new balancer, i might be paranoid(this is a huge posibility because im very anal about the Stang) anyway...i snapped a few pics of the backside of the balancer (kinda hard to get a digi cam around in there) My dad says it looks fine and i dont see much to worry about...but maybe im not seeing something....

the pics are HUGE, and im sorry for that.....edit....i resized the pics...

Thanks in advance for any help

Well, not many people can diagnose a balancer just by looking at a few pics. If the rubber is coming out and you can feel it with your hand then just get a new balancer. Simple as that. www.musclemotors.com $180 shipped for a Powerbond.

That one looks fine to me....I gave Seth one with 62k on it that looked just like that...she's got some miles left in it...assuming it looks like that all the way around...

Now this is a bad one... When it looks like this, you'll get some vibs for sure... This one had 104k on it...

yeah i just talked to my dad again...he said if anything we will just keep an eye on the rubber, if it gets any worse(the vibration) then we will have a go at replacing it...

It's really hard to say if its bad or not by those pics (or any pics depending on the circumstance). Does it look like it's wobbling when the motor is running?

your balancer looks ok, but they are known to fail on our cars. if it fails at the wrong time it can cause some real damage to your motor. fix the problem before it becomes a problem.my balancer went on the highway at 80mph. i thought the car was going to come apart it was shaking so bad.luckily, i didnt do any damage. another word of advice speaking from experience. buy a romac and dont bother with a stock replacement. i tried to save a few bucks and ended up chucking the new balancer 2000 miles later because it was starting to wobble. the romac is now more than a year old and is still spinning like it is brand new. hope this helps ya.
