So I just got my 2001 GT today. I drove it for about an hour and then brought it home, didn’t really abuse it, didn’t really get on it too much. It’s now about four hours after I’ve parked it, In the cold air intake is pretty hot. Even the hood of the car is extremely warm to the touch, the rest of the car has cooled down but the engine is warm. Including the alternator, the cold air intake, and the heads.

Is this normal?

Sounds pretty normal if the car was sitting outside in the heat and sun. Keep an eye on your coolant temp gauge next time you drive it to see if things are getting too hot.

Can take hours for an engine to cool after you shut it off. 500-600 lbs of metal or so can store a lot of energy for a while.
