Hey guys im going to the track tomorrow to get some quarter times before i start my HCI swap. I got no experience so im just wondering how u guys like to launch, what you shift at, do you hold down the gas the whole time ( i think its called powershift??), just any techniques or hints u guys have would be cool...

I used this, small burn out, drive around a water box if your on street tires.

at the lights hold at 2,000 rpms, you may need more or less with your car but I found this to be realy good and avg. about a 2.0-2.1 60 on street tires.

leave, 5,000 push in cluch shift as fast as you can and let out clutch as fast as you can with your foot on the gas the whole time.
repeat this step 2-3 times depending on gears or track lenght (1/8th or 1/4 mile).

Run tires at about 25psi.

This is for a rather stock longblock, the more mods the more playing with launch and shift points.

i would not powershift at all. leave it to the crazy people!
get yourself some slicks so it makes it easier to move down the track. do a good burn out with the slicks, launch at different RPM's until u find the one you feel comfortable with. remember, you are not racing the guy next to you, its the clock you are racing. dont care too much for your times until you get a handle on what you are doing out there. gotta crawl before you walk
