Hi there the other day i notice my temp gauge does not work at all. The gas, oil, fuel, and battery gauge work fine. Engine has not overheat at all either. Could this indicate a Thermostat problem? also my check engine light is lit.

How does the heat work??

If the heat is blowing cold then you have either a giant air pocket in the cooling system (this would prevent the guage from reading correctly because coolant is not getting to the sensor) or the thermostat is stuck open..

check to see what the code is and post back, I would not drive this car untill you figure this out.

might be the ECT sensor, or maybe it just came unplugged somehow. the thermostat isnt expensive and dosent hurt to put a new one in. also kinda easy to change.

It's probably your temperature sender/sensor (my 98 has two but your car only has one "sensor" I think). It is on your intake manifold ...

As for a sticking thermostat, sometimes you can take a screwdriver and tap on the thermostat housing to get them un-stuck until you can get a new one. I doubt that is your problem though since you say that the gauge does nothing at all.
