I am installing electric fans. The only place to install the sensor is in the thermostat housing, which has the sending unit for the guages. The only other location available is in the intake manifold, under the distributor module. I plan on replacing the distributor in the future to rectify this problem. In the meantime, I am using a brass "T" in the thermostat housing to accomodate both sensors(fan switch, guages). Is there a problem with this, ie degraded temp. readings, etc.?

I mounted the temp guage sender in the intake manifold and the fan sending unit in the thermostat housing. I circled them in red, but the temp guage sender is behind the plug wires.

"...The only other location available is in the intake manifold, under the distributor module"

I have a similar intake manifold...that location is unusable without purchasing another(different) distributor.

Most intakes have a boss somewhere in the back of them where you can drill/tap another hole for the temp sensor.

I use a "T" all the time for what you're doing. Zero issues with using it. I've got one on the 5.0 in my 89 Ranger for the fan sensor and heater hose.
