hey, i am currently test driving a 02 v6 5speed, with 37k miles, its beautiful and i love it so far (even tho its a v6 haha) is there anything i should really check out before i buy this car? any known problems with this year/motor?

everything seems to be great, the only thing i have noticed so far is that when im downshifting, i can hear a whine comming from under the car, i cant tell wether its the tranny or the rear end? is this normal or is something about to go? its not a very loud whine, but with the radio off and the ac off you can hear it.... thanks guys

Could be the fuel pump...we got some noisy ones. Probably nothing, but have a mechanic check it out if you are really afraid...

hey you say "even though its just a v6"...now if you're not going to be happy with this car I wouldn't buy it. You'll turn into a self-hating v6 mustang driver lol. if you get this car you should be proud to drive it, not shrug off any v6 jokes, FIGHT BACK!.....own their sorry a....butts. the v6 is a good car, but i mean ill be honest and up front you will get these sorry pathetic ricers in 4 bangers laughing at you, although you can just floor it nd watch their headlights dissapear in your rear view mirror, and you will get these highschool jackas..jocks that drive brand new cobras who will act like jerks to you. im forwarning you. not scaring you away, just warning you.

that is true....im not ashamed to have a v6 mustang but i wouldn't buy one again. When people ask me why i have a v6, i tell them the truth. I can't afford insurance for a gt.

haha... well sure i'd like to have a GT, but the v6 is like half the price, and insurance is much cheaper, and it burns less gas (very important to me right now) and actually, its not all that slow.... i was suprised the first time i floored it, i just think that all v6s get a bad name because of a certain few that do stupid things.... but anyways, i love the car, and i think some magnapacks will take care of that whine, lol... im just not used to having a car with a stock exhaust i guess.... but anyhow, i think ill be keeping this car, ive found nothing really wrong with it, and it sure does look nice... just gotta get rid of the wheels and a few other things... needs to be lowered bad, lol... ill try and get some pics up soon

The v6 doesn't get that much better gas mileage...its still 3.8 liters. Don't expect over 23 mpg city. And thats if your nice on it.
