test drove a car today a 95 gt stock 5 speed

i have a 95 gt auto stock. the 95 gt i test drove was way faster than my car. the car pick up alot faster than my car. i was wounding if that could be because my car is total stock every thing is as is from the factory plug and wire? what all is needed in a full tune? i the other day i put on my car new plugs ,rotor, cap , air filter and fuel filter. what esle do i need to change?

The reason why the 5spd was faster is because you lose quite a bit more power through your auto tranny than you do through the manual one.

#1 Clean your MAF & IAT sensors.

#2 After you get 100 miles on the new plugs, yank them and see what's going on. Maybe you are running rich/lean.

Also, a vacuum gauge will tell you if you have any vacuum leaks.

I'm betting it's just the auto vs manual bit. Get an AODE with really tall gears (do they come with 2.73's even?) and a 5-speed with the optional 3.08's, and the 5-speed is going to seem much faster. I drove a 93 GT waaaaaay back, when it was only a two-year old car, and it had an auto -- couldn't even break the tires loose from a dead stop . On a fox no less...

Sounds like you have a good start on tuning it....Does it run better??? The 5spd is gonna be quicker than an auto....plus the state of tune matters too.

have you checked your timing yet??? she could be off some...that hurts right there....

Pull your PCV valve and replace it, its cheap money....clean the mesh thats under the pcv valve...you just remove the rubber grommet the pcv goes in and there it sits...pull it out and clean it up...she may be gunked up with oil.

not sure "wrenchwise" how you are but this is a good link to clean and adjust some stuff that matters in GTs... some of that doggy feeling can be found right in these 5 steps...its good for peace of mind and gets you right into knowing your car....This is all wrenching 101 stuff...

Mass airflow sensor. My recommendation for cleaning it -- one can of brake cleaner, liberally applied. Clean the inside of the housing, as well as the sensor element itself (you'll know what it is once you're looking at it).

the MAF is on the left side middle north of airbox(between 2 plastic intake tubes) it has a wire pluged in that says ABCD,

That is a step by step guide on how to clean the MAF. It's VERY common for them to get dirty and not read correctly with time.

thanks guy I think I will be doing that is weekend. Do you think it would be a good idea to reset my computer at the same time incase it has be reading wrong. I have had the car for two years and never knew about cleaning the MAF

You WILL feel a difference b/t a stock AODE and 5-speed.. With the difference in power loss from fly to wheels, youre looking at about 10% difference more or less.
