i just went tonight, thease times were horrible, i know there is more in my car

first pass launch at 5k rpm
reaction- .2261
60 ft- 2.5357
330 ft- 6.5747
1/8 et- 9.7658
1/8 mph- 78.13
1000' et- 12.4820
1000' mph- 90.13
1/4 et- 14.7640
1/4 mph- 99.09

i spun hardcore off the line, hit second and bogged down bad. miss no gears

second pass launch at 3k rpm
reaction- .1778
60ft- 2.2551
330ft- 6.1330
1/8 et- 9.3671
1/8 mph- 77.47
1000' et- 12.1972
1000 mph- 85.69
1/4 et- 14.5632
1/4 mph- 96.15

on that pass i missed third & fourth gear. i have mm lca's, adj pinion snubber, and bfg dr's, and four cyl springs with no front sway bar....wtf!!!!

When I had my Mustang, my first ever time at a drag strip I pulled a 1.9 60', on a stock motor that wasn't too happy and 275/50R15 ET Streets. My ET was almost 0.4 seconds faster, and 7 mph slower. ET is all in the first 330 feet. After that it's just MPH.

I'm begining to notice a pattern here..why can nobody afford $300 for a pair of ET Streets?

i allready bought d/r ill wait till there gone then ill look into m/t et streets..i like thoes better

heres the thing......stock weight of an 88 gt. with the exception of a/c and a/p and sway bar removed. i had a full tank of gas and my 280lb fat ass. nothin else has been removed.
with the 4cyl springs in, the front sits way too low. my front tires sit in the fender wells in the front. so the transfer is not there like i wanted. i dunno ill figure somehting out

I have et streets and i hooks at 4,000 rpms on the launch i get 1.70's 1.80's 1.90's all day.Does your track use traction compound on tune and test days.maybe you had too much air pressure in the bfgs.more track time will help the times alot.what mods do you have as stock runs about 15.50 or so in the 1/4

get v8 springs i have them

i was at milan dragway in michigan, i dont know if they used compound. my mods were in my sig. nothing too special, i just thought there was more in her. i was hoping for 14. flat i think i had like 25 or 30spi in the tires. i didnt have a guage on me or i would of dropped the pressure. there a 275/40/17 dr if it makes a differencs, which i think it does

on an untouched 88gt with the exception of 3.73's and flowmaster mufflers and a
k&N filter i went 13.8 on et streets with sway bar removed . Thats pretty much it, no launch as i feared breaking something. So i probably would have went a little faster had i left the line with some rpm. basically the slicks stopped the spinning after i took off and on the 1-2 shift. I was cutting 1.8 60's. So your setup with ported heads and everything else you have, i would expect the same as my time or better. I was running through stock headers and catted H too. Although i could have had one of those freak speed density cars. who knows

also the car ran 14.2 on bf goodrich ta radials(street tires, not drag radials) and i was cutting 2.0-2.1 60's

yeah i'd expect faster too. when all i had was 4.10's, 2.5" o/r H pipe and spintech mufflers, i cut a 13.7@99mph with a (iirc) 2.0 short time on nitto's. i haven't run my car since the rebuild and other bolt ons so i don't know what it'll run now. definitely pulls harder though.

beyond what everyone here has said, the only advice I can give you is to not focus on the lights and your reaction time. it doesn't affect your e/t and it usually gets new drivers anxious and messes up launches.

with that 1.778 r/t i think its safe to say he's not even paying attention to the tree. jk jk :D

It looks like lowering your launch rpms helped quite a bit. but also, you can't really expect much when you miss TWO of the four gears from a run! :p thats leaving quite a bit on the table imo.

i didn't even see him say he missed 2 gears! yeah man, practice hitting all the gears and then go do it again. missing 2 gears would EASILY shave half a second. probably even more depending on how fast you got it to go in each time!

Don't just drop the hammer, your going to have to ride the clutch out of the hole some for it to hook well on DRs.

Take it from someone running consistent 1.93-1.96 60's on 18" Street tires, a little spin is alright to keep the power up, but your going to have to be a little less anxious on just dumping the clutch.

Also the 1 tenth in the 60' is 2 up top is a decent way, but in NO way a garentee. To think his 14.7 would be a 13.1 with a 1.7 60' (at 99 mph) would most likely not happen. Too many variables.

Yup i agree with 25th. Those sixty foots will only come down with some clutch finesse. You cant just dump and go. Even on street tires i still launch from 3k rpm...just slip the clutch and control the wheelspin.

Generally you wont be able to get to WOT right away. You need to control wheelspin first then get into it for the last little bit to get the CAR moving before hitting second gear.

You need to drop that tire pressure to 15 psi and do a healthy 2nd gear burnout. Get em hot and then launch that sucker someplace in between 4k and 5k.

And last but not least...in a race where you are only making 3 shifts...you just cant be missing 2 of them. Thats an easy .5 sec depending on how quickly you recovered. I think high 13's are definitely possible with this combo.
