TFI almost touching radiator hose....

i never noticed until i looked at other cars, but when my timing is advanced 13* my TFI is almost touching the radiator hose. the distributor is not a tooth (or more) off. is this normal? on both my friends cars they are not nearly that close to the hose. any ideas?

you can move that top part around and situate it how you want it and drop it in...basically what i'm saying is, there's not a set spot for your ignition module to be when you have it set at "x" timing.

Yes, the distributor can be mounted in any position. Depends on which way you drop it in. After that, you can turn it and time it to any degree wanted. But, you have to keep in mind that the distributor will not turn 360° in there. It will only turn so far then the TFI will hit the intake manifold or something, so keep this in mind if you decide to take out and reset your distributor position.
