tfs street heat vs stock cobra intake

i was thinking about putting a street heat on my 94 cobra, the tfs is off a fox body so i will have to buy the elbow, but i thought someone else said i would have to get a different throttle body also, i also have one of those from the fox body that is 70 mm instead of my 65, does anyone know about the throttle body?:shrug:

As long as you use the elbow you throttle cable is fine. If you plan on using the fox tb and no elbow then you need a fox cable. If you look at the FAQ sticky we have there is a write up there on how to swap to a fox tb.

everything else being the same. the difference between a street heat and a cobra intake probably won't be all that noticeable. the cobra intake already flows pretty well.

with the elbow, your 94 TB will bolt right on, but the inside diameter of the TB will be smaller than that of the heat, so the airflow might not be optimal.

if you go to a fox tb setup, i'm pretty sure you either lose your cruise control or have to do some custom stuff cause the fox didn't have cruise control, so there is nowhere to connect the cable ... ?

I think your right seeing as how slow 5.0 has show between his ported cobra and tfs trackheat are within 5hp of each other, now given u take a street and a stock intake cobra,one probably shouldn't even see a difference. But however i believe in theory maybe the trackheat will be suitable for a cobra helping with that upper rpm pull which seems to be lacking with the factory gt40 heads?, ofcourse id like others inputs as well as maybe it is still too much intake for untouched gt40 heads
 
If it's a stock cobra intake just get some port work done. Check out t-moss's website he has a whole bunch of comparos with the different intakes. I was surprised to see just how well the stock cobra intake did. I had the Edel performer, on my cobra with everything else being pretty stock and the only real difference I felt was in the 5 to 6000 rpm range. Now that my little engine spins to 6500 - 6800 I had to change to the rpm. I'll have dyno numbers when its complete. My combo that i'm building for the future is going to have a custom sheetmetal intake, this sucker is gonna be moving some major air.... I'm not letting too many details out just yet, all I ever say is A4 block, and now it looks like 2 different hairdryers, sequencially activated, one up to 5-10 lbs and the other should start at 10 lbs and I dont know where it will stop yet....... stay tuned.
