Hey there everyone,

I don't post very often so nobody knows me around here but I just thought I'd share my happiness with everyone anyways....

I've been working on swapping a 4 valve modular motor into my '89 LX hatch for the past couple of months now and last Sunday I cranked her over and she roared to life. The motor is a '97 Mark VIII with all stock electronics including the PATS. The motor has a set of FRPP tubular shorty headers, an '03 Cobra h-pipe, and a Magnaflow cat back exhaust. I bolted up a T45 tranny... I get all teary eyed when I hear the throaty modular exhaust note in the garage.

Just a few little things to do in order to get her on the road: shorten the driveshaft, install electric fan, lengthen steering shaft. Hopefully I will be able to get out and meet a few of you folks....

Take care everyone and have a happy holidays,

JT

I'll try to get some pics out there soon. I'll say though that if you try to do one of these conversions plan on spending at least 8 months on the bloody thing! It's oh so very worth it though!!

Feel free to shoot me questions about the swap! I can help you avoid some of the time consuming mistakes that I made. I'd be glad to show you the car too....once she's driveable.

Take care!
