Well last evening I got my new project. It had been in my friends possession since he was 16 years old and he is around 55 or 56. It is a base model that came from the factory as a seafoam green car with a 289 and automatic transmission the only thing I see added is an A/C and louvers with a respray 10 or more years ago. At once it appears to have had electric windows but they have been changed back to manual roll ups. He told me the last time he drove it was a year ago so when i got it the rear drum was frozen stuck. After a few mins of wrenching i removed the drum cover and freed up the stuck wheel. Well I did not want to run bad gas through the carb I drained the tank and replaced the fuel filter then primed. After maybe 4 turns of the motor, presto it was running on all cylinders. No smoke, I was floored. I checked and all gauges worked except the clock. Oil pressure great , Amps perfect, even gas gauge worked. The lights all were functioning except one of the blinkers in the hood. I even saw the compressor for the A/C work and blows fairly cool. Now I need to figure out how to start making it my own.
