The Day the Earth Stood Still

Hey Historic, ignore him. A waste is a terrible thing to mind. GT2K, this is the first post I've read of yours, as I'm a relative newby here. But I can see that you truly are a tool.

Yes, but I am sober now. You might want to start putting up some tech or consider returning here:

My stuff is out there for the world to read.......and yours. Not really sure who has been, as you like to say "exposed".

Besides, most of the viewers here have not yet been brainwashed by all the magazine stuff. Let them make up their own minds after reading "all" the viewpoints.

You sound like me most of the time!

See ya!

If you only knew asswhipe...

I guess I just don't get the whole point of this post....

Once upon a time, 4 years ago, you went faster than some girl driving a car built with her daddy's money? Doesn't make MY earth stand still.

While the E-brock name may be associated with that car, a quick search proves that they usually run in the back half of the pack, much like yourself. Frankly, it's a LONG list of folks who have beaten the "Fun team". The only hi-dollar parts I can see on the car are the ones their own company makes, which amounts to only shocks in the suspension department. I keep hearing TCP mentioned - are there even TCP parts on the car?

I'd be more impressed if you could point us to some recent credentials showing that your combination was faster than somebody else's "hi-dollar" combination.

Street guys being brainwashed by race-car setups is much the same as the supposed "magazine brainwashing" I keep hearing preached. What works for you on the track often does not make a competent, comfortable street setup. 95% of the crowd here is looking for streetwise performance. Let's not get started measuring "knowledge" by numbers of laps. Knowledge comes from understanding what the USER is trying to accomplish, why the parts are doing what they do, what needs to change, and why some changes work better than others. There are many levels of "good" modifications, some are just better than others FOR A SPECIFIC PURPOSE.

Granada brakes, for instance, have use in some applications, but not in others. I'd much rather see some REAL tech explaining their effect on Ackerman & bumpsteer, than self serving posts that start with "this is how to go fast, don't respond if you don't agree". That's kind of childish. When's the last time a magazine "brainwashed" people by explaining how to measure and correct bumpsteer?

If running laps 20 seconds off the pace (no matter how many) makes you a "suspension guru", I guess standing in the garage makes me a car... It isn't "what you do", but "how well you do it" that earns respect. :( I'd much rather collect my information from someone who has actually TRIED 5 different control arm setups, than someone who bolts a car together using already known technology, buys a helmet, and proclaims themself the expert.

It's because GT2K has already gone round and round with Historic. Not only that, but Historic has already started like three threads about how bad ass his car, and his website is.

It gets OLD.

I don't have a problem with a person wanting to build their car on a budget and using stock components. However the truth is, the Mustang's suspension technology is almost 50 years old.

You want to work on a computer from 1959? Want to listen to a radio from 1961?

In 1965, it took a rather radical 289 to make 305 HP. Now we can make 305 hp out of a mild mannered 270 C.I. engine with fuel injection, air conditioning, and a 5 speed overdrive trans.

Bag on GT2K all you want, but what is Historic trying to promote here?

Technology HAS improved, in every aspect of our rides. Yes it's expensive to upgrade, and no most people won't be running thier cars on a race track, however, ask yourself this; why has the 302EFI swap become so popular? Why are so many of us putting T-5's, and/or AOD's behind our engines?

It's to improve the overall performance, and reliability of our cars.

Do you guys honestly think that the suspension is immune from 50 years of performance gain?

Honestly?

dolfan87 is absolutely correct on this, when historic first joined this board he was very helpful but then he got all bigheaded because he is the only person on this board who actually races his car fairly consistently in a competetive class. that's all good to actually go out and race your car and all and i commend him for that, but i'm tire4d of having it shoved down my throat all the time, that and when we try to actually do improvements on our car that are more modern and have the ability to do a MUCH better job of doing what suspensions are supposed to do he always tries to convince people that these things are unnecessary and are a big waste of time and money and when asked why he doesn't agree he always says that's just the way it is and he doesn't care what anyone else has to say and then he crams the "racing thing" down your throat again and provides absolutely no worthwhile technical reasons as to why he doesn't agree with someone.

Dude, the personal attacks are completely unnecessary. Rise above the crap, and deal with people in a dignified manner.

Oh, I thought that was the stanknet lingo :bang: There's a few all stars here, but in general there's a lot left to be desired. Some of these guys are acting like I pulled Santa's beard off. You know as well as I do, you gotta pay to play ... it's 2004.

Stanknet? Give me a break. I suppose I gave you more credit than you deserved.

I have seen your car, and you have skills. Transfer some of that onto your keyboard next time.
