Some of you may know I have been working on my car since June 1st... Doing a explorer swap, with some rebuild... swapping the accessories over and the super charger... complete engine bay rust removal, with fresh paint... long tube exhaust...

Its been little setbacks one after another... the latest is 2 crushed brake lines that i am repairing now... another thing i have never done that needed to be fixed...

I smoked out some wires and now my headlights don't come on... but i believe the car will still start...

Exhaust was sent out to get welded for the 4 bungs... and they came back in the wrong spots... now i am re-doing them with a local guy and babying him through it... i swear if i don't do it myself it doesn't get done right EVER!

Hopefully the day to start the car will be this week. but 5 months is way too long to be without a car... DON'T DO IT!!! LOL

Do little things at a time...

I seriously can build this car from scratch now... hopefully never again.

I haven't trouble shot the wiring yet, but some white smoke came out when i hooked up the battery, but it doesnt do it anymore? Any suggestions are welcome.

"If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself."

Just keep plugging away man. No sense in going this far to crap out or skimp on some minor details. Once you finish, the sense of accomplishment will outway the hardships 10 fold.

i know it will, im just looking forward to paying for gas again :)

ill get the mid pipe back in a day or 2... thats all i have to do and i should get her started..

Anyone have a guide to set base timing by chance?

That pretty much says it all :D

That is the main reason why I turn my own wrenches
and
Tune it myself :Word:

Yes ... as said above :)

You do get a sense of pride when you do it yourself :spot:

You also save a T O N of money on labor

Good to see it all working out for you :nice:

Find the pointer thingie and get yourslef a t lite
so
You can get your spark like it needs to be

I know ... I know ... Just one more dad-burn thing to do :rlaugh:

i need to get the pointer thing and the bolt that goes to it... - part number request please :)

I need to get bolts for the cat back... the old ones rusted and snapped, but the mid pipe is in... and lots of wiring done, just need the cat back on and charge the battery... should be able to start her for the first time in 5 months!

man im in the same boat. :) if it aint one thing its another. i hope to have mine started next if a few parts show up.

btw dunno the a part # for the pointer, but im pretty sure the bolts that hold it are a 5/16. ones about 2 in and the other 1 1/2.

well i got lucky and spun the dizzy and got her fired up.... the bad news... my SCT software is not supported and need to upgrade to 3.0 for a huno.... and I have to wait for everything in the mail.... wont be able to tune the car till next weekend now... It idles good lol sounds like death :)
