would it do me any good to put cats back on my car without the emissions crap under the hood? the fumes inside are killin me, i know i dont have any exhaust leaks, and i figured once i put a full exhaust on it would blow out the back, and not really bother me, but it does, will it help to put cats on, or do i have to have it all to kill the fumes?

So you have it blowing out the back? Man all my cars don't have any cats or any emmision equipment and I've never smelt it, unless I'am outside of my car while it's idleing for awhile.

when ever you remove cats, you get a distinctive smell that can be real bad. I would try putting on your stock h pipe just to see if it gets rid of that smell for you. I know what you're talking about, and it's not fun.

Catalytic converters without the smog pump will fail sooner than they would with the smog pump. The extra air helps burn up the hydrocarbons and keeps the cats for carboning up and being coated with sludge.

For fun, try those fluids that scent the exhaust...they have bubble gum, blueberry, etc. Seriously, I would try and find out where the smell is coming from. If you smell it all the time, you may have an interior exhaust leak, and while the smell may be bad, the CO will kill you. With the cats on you may not smell the unburnt gas, but the CO is odorless, and may still be leaking into the car. My 2 cents.

Try adjusting your TPS to .98V. This will lean it out some at idle. If it is real rich at idle the exhaust smell is real bad. You're always going to have the smell but not near as bad.

how much does bassani get for those new high flow cats? and is it easy to install them on an existing O/R H-pipe (mine is MAC).?

bassaini = expensive. Catco = cheap. best bet if you want to do it on the cheap, pick up a pair of catco hi-flo cats, go to a shop that welds, mieneke - speedy - midas and ask them if they will weld on the cats. Some wont touch it others will if you slip them a $20. Better even if you already know of someone who will weld them on

Riceeater, just curious, what are your mods ? Do you have a big lopy cam and large injectors ? Can you tell what your fuel pressure is at and have you checked for any codes ?

yes i have a large cam .540, factory injectors heads intake, 190 fuel pump, bbk headers, flows, k&n,70mm TB ect. ect. ect.
