Today sucked like most days.

Started out good, went to the ford dealer to pick up my dads truck that needed a new cat. converter. On the way I looked to the right and there were two, not one but two 65ish looking mustangs (i only saw the front), both convertibles. one was red and one was blue and they were side by side

then at the dealer i saw a vista blue for the first time. convertible. i ordered vista blue and am wondering where this one came from but not mine
nice color by the way

then came work which sucked even more on the way home where i am coasting down a very large hill in my dads 2002 civic in neutral for the hell of it when i get pulled over for doing 67 in a 45. now this road is easily a 55-60mph speed limit with wide lanes, not crowded and long straight aways. but he writes me up for 10 over and saves me $200 on the ticket.

the funny thing is, these cops were busy tonight, when i got pulled over i looked in my mirrow and saw 4 other cars pulled over along with me.
then as i leave, one more takes my place.

any idea how much insurance goes up for a 20, almost 21 year old male with only one ticket and a licence for about 5 years? i know about the good record thing but i blew that last december doing 55 in a 35 zone in my 01 mustang.

Best thing is to contact another insurance carrier outside of your current one. Like Progressive or Geico. That will give you a good idea. It is not always less expensive to stay with your current carrier as the underwriting guidelines will weight the loss experience and driving record you have with them. Sometimes, when you go to a new carrier, you stay about the same as your current rate since the Underwriting Guidelines have you at a clean slate.

Sorry to hear about your bummer day. Tomorrow is a new day and will have its own set of ups and downs. Ride it out. It is the essence of the rest of your life.

Not sure what state you are in, in CA we can't take a DD class more than once in a year.

I figure it could've been worse, If I DID have my GT then the cop would've been more likely to give me the 15 over instead of 10 over which would've been almost a $300 ticket

And scew defensive driving, just run em off the road.

jenns05stang,
dont mean to rain on your parade, but in calif you can take it more than once, you need to quote a specific vehicle code and ask the judge for permission. but its within 18 months. and its a 12 hr class not just 8.

prepaid legal and you should never have another problem or rate increase. Friend of mine gets pulled over very often and never pays a dime increase in premium. Need some help with that let me know.

Now-Now.....okay.....We will call it the "Humor DMV Safe Driving Course".....

And that would be more to in line with "Drive it like you Stole it", and that will get you into trouble someday unless you are a good driver. No offense intended, but I have a feeling that you and a GT may be a bad thing.

That is fine..rain on.. I am proud to be ignorant of the subject. I thought I had a few coworkers run into the DD school limit. I am wrong. I had never had a speeding ticket before February 2003 when I decided to toss my perfect record out the window with a .19 BAC doing 55 in a 35, which took 4 police to stop me in my 03 GT. Lesson learned. System my butt. I will live with that for many more years. I lost a 15 year perfect driving record and had to start over like a newbie driver.

Worst part was the MADD classes. Broke my heart. But I learned a valuable lesson. I respect my vehicle. People can kill and a car is an affective tool if not given the respect it deserves.

I am a fine driver it is just that around here in Rhode Island, almost every road has a speed limit that is just not pratical. They are all too slow and i am not the only one that thinks so. On the road i got pulled over on today, speed limit is 45 and everyone and I mean everyone does atleast 60. you get bumped off the road if you dont

Ahhhh.. understood. There are a few roads around here where I live that are like that. You feel like you are impeding the flow of traffic, so you drive like everyone else and you end out getting snagged.

Bummer... When you get the GT, enjoy it young man, and be safe.

Don't you guys have a yankee version of the "good old boy" system. Pay a lawyer and get out of it. I'd rather pay a lawyer an even grand, than have it leeched from me by the insurance companies for years without end.

What really gets me mad is this..

-We pay taxes
-taxes pay cops
-cops pull us over and give tickets
-we pay twice

why are we stupid enough to pay people to give us speeding tickets that we need to pay?

I would rather go scour myself in hydrochloric acid then ask for an attorney to get me out of something that I am at fault and guilty of. It is just the way I was raised and that silly conscious of mine.

BTW: I really like the silver stripes on the Torch Red.
