86 with an 84 carbed 302. The carb is an Edelbrock 1405. Idle air adjustment screws. Whether the one on the drivers side of the carb is all the way in or out there is no difference. I assume this is not normal. Is the carb shot, need to be rebuilt? The passenger side one seems to be working fine.
Also, it has a stock intake. While changing plugs today, I noticed oil around the intake bolt between #2 and #3. Couldn't tell if it is a bad valve cover gasket and the oil is getting up onto the bolt. Is there any other reason why oil would be there?
The prob that I am trying to figure out is: At approx 3000 rpm, the engine starts spitting and sputtering until I shift gears or slow down. Eventually, I'm gonna replace the engine but don't have the time right now and I need to drive it?
Thanks
