I’m lucky, our county doesn’t have emissions. But I’m tired of smelling like exhaust, so some high flows are in my future. I’m just surprised it may make it louder especially since I have no cats on it now.

I wouldn't be worried about the sound, when I put those cats on that 04 it just sounded BETTER, not louder. More crisp?? That car didn't have any cats on it before that.

Maybe that will be good, because the dynomax mufflers sound kinda ‘fuzzy’ to me, maybe it will crisp it up. I had magnaflows on my ‘66 and I hated them, although it didn’t have headers and they were dumped, which made it very deep and drone like crazy. Would love to find some nice crisp sounding mufflers, but not too loud. It does have bbk shorties and I believe they are ceramic coated if that matters.

I put the Flowmaster Hi-Flow cats from LMR into my BBK OR-H pipe a few years back and it really helps with the smell. The sound is just slightly quieter than without them but still perfect for me, and no noticeable loss of power.

You get more exhaust 'crackle' without cats. It kills a lot of the mellow at idle.

If one were to change from a GT40 tubular to a Cobra intake and throttle body, what all would need to change? Throttle linkage, vacuum hoses, that kinda stuff?

Should be plug and play, maybe a vacuum line move or two.

Very minimal changes really. Pretty much direct swap. You probably never even had the egr coolant lines so no need to worry about that.

Just need a new TB gasket and upper to lower gasket, and an hour or two

I would keep the tubular man. Those are highly coveted intakes for these. Hard to find, expensive, cool looking intakes!!

I still am torn between the two. I am weird I actually like the look of ththe Cobra intake because I know it was stock. However I love the rareness of the GT40.

Doing some paint correction. This is after a cutting compound then followed by a correcting polish, waiting on my finishing polish. It’s not perfect, but I didn’t want to get too crazy with it. I’m surprised how hard the clearcoat is.

Put Cobra on and hang gt40 on the wall. Everyone needs 5.0 wall art

A raffle would be cool then. I'd be in

I will refer to the 89 now, as "The Polished Turd". That's where I would put a GT40 Tubular.

The Polished Turd doesn't leak.

Well I was going to try to get the roof and hatch done with 2 steps, but the freakin power keeps going out. Heavy snow this morning for about three hours and now it’s super clear/cold and very windy. Gotta love Washington weather.

How would this raffle work? Raffle numbers off then the person with that number wins and then pays the price I want??
