Thought I would post up a couple pics of my latest endevour. I know, I'm insane for even trying this, but it's started now, and I have to finish it.

Rear coil overs, and a mini-tub that has turned into a little bit more than just a mini... closer to a full tub.

A shot of the rear wheel well with all brackets removed, and the well cut out.

Some 2x3" square tubing to rebuild some new frame rails. You can also see the coil over mounts

A rear bar, just to tie everything together, and make it nice and square

This shows just how far inside the stock frame rail I am going to go. Should be able to get some HUGE tires under this thing next year.

If anyone is interested in a mini-tub kit(you don't have to go as crazy as I am). I purchased 2 kits, a friend of mine was also going to do this, but decided he didn't want to hack up his car. I paid $333 for the mini tubs and coil over setup plus shipping. Send me an e-mail with a reasonable offer and maybe we can work something out. I would have hada little more done, but I ran out of gas for the welder. I would also like to get the engine down in the car so I can finish the turbo setup.

Cool, definitly easier then the way I have to do mine. It does limit you if you ever want to do any type of class racing though. You can fit big meats with out the full tub just gotta know how.....

Autoweld makes some good stuff, you should not have a issue getting rid of that. Might want to advertise over on the FFW board, coil overs and mini tubs are legal this year for a few of their classes.

New axles and disc brakes also?

Rick, I don't ever plan on class racing. I build this car for myself to have fun. I can't afford to go around to all the big events anyways. I'm not sure if I am going to cut the housing and go shorter axles or just find a wheel with more backspacing to get it inside farther. The rear is already built with mosure stuff, 31 splines etc...

Well depending how far you want to narrow it, you only need 1" of spline to be fully engaged in the spool, that being said you can cut some of the axles down to narrow it a little with what you have. I was told all of that by Moser, I am cutting 1" per side off mine with the 9" ends to help tuck these 325/50's under the car to get the body lower in the rear. I have a lot of work to do on the wells to stay within the NMRA D/R rules to make it all happen but it should work out good in the end.

As far as class racing, I myself never thought about it but I am glad I do not need to build another chassis to compete...just something to think about, you never know what is in the future. What about local classes?

New motor should be a lot of fun , you always wanted to strap that turbo on the 351W.

rick, around here there are no local classes. we have the moms races http://www.momsracing.com/ but there aren't many classes. I've been in the top 10 for the fastest car at the track (in moms races) all year. I even had a 1st fastest at the track one night.
this is pretty much the only rule I have to follor
"4. Power Adder 5.0: SBF only. Slicks, mufflers, power adders required… whatever you want after that, just make it sick! No tube cars, please. 2900 pounds minimum with driver"
