What do you think will be the loudest exhaust for my 5.0 cobra? Xpipe or Hpipe? What muffler? I want to be heard from far away. I dont want open exhaust like dumps or nothin i just want to see from peoples opinons on which exhuast combo is the best sounding? Thanks everyone

well most people dont like it but the SLP cat back is by far the loudest exhaust for a mustang, i think it sounds ok but its not the traditional 5.0 sound. i prefer the sound of a H pipe over an X. the X is more of that racey sound to me where an H is more of that muscle car tone imo. i have 40 series flows with a bbk H and i love it.

Yup O/R H and some Flow 40's or MAC Flowpaths will be loud enough for your goal. I run an H and MAC's and it is plenty loud.

jnstang you also have a cobra so your car will be louder because of the gt40 heads.

spintech prostreets or magnapacks are a few of the loudest. SLP is loud, but barely anyone likes the sound.

I have SLP and an o/r h-pipe and you can definatey hear my car from a mlie away. My car is completely stock but sounds like it has an e-303 in it.

But depending on where you live you might wanna think twice about it. Suburb cops dont like it. But I live in the city where cops actually compliment it.

from what i understand an offroad H pipe with an SLP catback will probably be about as loud as it gets outside of open headers....of course i think sound quality is much more important than quantity

long tubes with electronic controled cut outs and then what ever you want after that. Then you can have something that will sounds damn good and loud as hell at the turn of a switch.

im doing that in the next month. got my LT's, o/r hpipe and flows. sounds better than 9.8/10 of the mustangs ive ever heard. loud but not super super loud...just tough. im getting those electronic cutouts for right after the mufflers so i can run dumps whenever i want with the look of tailpipes....or i can quiet it down a bit and make them go out the tailpipes

glasspack muffler, O/R H for sound... the X will give SLIGHTLY better power... but the sound of the H is always worth it in my opinion oh, and the mufflers are nicknamed "cherry bomb mufflers" just so you know

and offroad pipe and cherry bomb mufflers will be the loudest. I believe that cherry bombs are illegal in some states though so you may want to check it out. As for the SLP, my friend has that setup in his 98 GT, and he got pulled over at the beach cause it was too loud and the cop actually checked for cats. Like others say, I think it sounds too pickup truckish, but he loves it.

my car is stock with bbk off road x, spintech pro streets and 2.5" tail pipes with 3.5'' tips. Belive me this is the answer to anyone who wants loud exhuast. Its louder than 2 chamber flows but it has a very nice rumble to it. Personally too loud for me, but i don't want to go back to flows because they're too common.

I would say my MACs with the O/R X is pretty damn louder. Also Magnapacks would really scream, and probably be the loudest you can get and not sound like absolute ****.

LOL I have heard of some cherry bombs fiberglass blowing out of them so I would be carful with them I'm happy with my mac setup my friends say it sounds cool it has a unique sound that's for sure. I was thinking about modifyin my dumps to come out the side so that might be cool. I can't wait to see if the new headers make it sound any different.

I had stock headers upr xpipe and flowmaster force 2 cat back. I loved the way it sounded and thats why I was scared to change the headers. Now I got Mac longtubes, upr xpipe that was chopped up from midas and te force 2 catback and its so quiet. I think for xmas im gonna see if santa will get me a prochamber and a borla side exhaust kit. Later I will post pics of the xpipe i had made from midas and you all can tell me how much power im losing cause of the pipe bender the used. I REALLY REGRET GOING TO MIDAS TO MAKE MY XPIPE FIT MY HEADERS, ADVICE FOR ALL Buy a midpipe made for longtubes and sell the midpipe you had,
