And a two door car with a back seat that will barely hold a couple bags of groceries, let alone a full grown person, is not going to appeal to the masses. Mustangs only appeal to a certain niche, you guys. Why do you think trucks and SUVs are such big sellers? They actually have some room in them.

Your two statements contradict themselves. On one hand, you concede that there is a demand for the cars, even if it is "to people with more dollars than sense." Yet on the other hand, you insist that Mustangs "only appeal to a certain niche." People either want the SE Mustangs that Ford is making, or they don't. Given the price mark-ups on them, clearly they do. Ford doesn't (or least shouldn't) care whether or not the people who want to buy them have any sense. They should care whether or not they can make enough of them for the people who want to buy them at the price (MSRP) that Ford markets them for. At the moment, they're not doing that.

Control the greedy dealers and you will eliminate much of the problem. There are ways to get that point across. Whatever happened to the customer being right?

Just look at how much the aftermarket companies are enjoying this. With the dealer markups, people are cloning these SE cars left and right. Granted Ford I'm sure gets some kind of kick back from their parts sold around the world, but it is cheaper than going to the dealer and buying the real thing...at least for now. The only difference then is on the registration, which to me is not worth the cost of 2 GT Premiums!!!!!

the solution is simple.patience.in 5 months when the 2008 gt500's start hitting the dealers and they still have 07's to get rid of they will drop the markup.they are taking advantage of the have to have it before everyone else crowd. fords problem is i had no problem waiting to get a gt500 but now i just dont care anymore.the greedy dealers cost them a car and i am so sick of this crap.

looks just like the coupe, but with a convertible top on it. nothing special over the regular shelby GT. all the hype to announce a vert.

Makes me wonder if they originally planned on using this forum to unveil the GT500KR, but they couldn't get the car completed in time for the show, so they settled on the Shelby GT vert.... that would make more sense, but with the way Ford has been running things lately, who knows?
