Needs a few replacement parts, but it's tempting. I think I'd see about them keeping the compressor to help save weight for shipping, I'd probably see about retrofitting something newer. But this would take my car back to an AC car as it was before....

It would definitely be a future project.

Finally mounted the fiberglass rear bumper cover today in preparation for transporting back to Iowa. It still needs adjusting, but I'm not too concerned with it right now, it's just mounted so it can make the trip.

Here's how I did it though: I used my original bumper support and bonded them together with panel adhesive. If one decides to go this route, you'll need the gun. Here is the stuff I ordered from Amazon:

Big day! Pulled out my pressure washer and washed the back garage doors. Figured while I was at it, the Cobra needed to have the mold blasted off of it. It still needs a proper bath (and another paint job....), but it's a lot more presentable than it has been for a couple years. Pulled it around front in case I decide to give it a wash, but I'm still working on other stuff so I don't know if it'll actually happen today.

Just bit the bullet and bought the Cobra some new shoes. Same size cheapy tire in the front, but the new rears are a tad larger. Going from 265/50-15 to Nitto 275/50-15 drag radials. Pics to come when they're installed in a week or 2.

Clearance is tight in the wheel well, especially near the bump out where the seat belt retractor is. I might need a small spacer, but I won't know til they're here. And I've been living with the lip making slight contact with the 265s when I hit big bumps or dips. It's not been scarring the sidewalls, so I imagine it's just hitting the tread - I believe I'll be working that area now. But my main goal is to have it road worthy by Memorial Day. Time will tell....

You would be amazed at what a Clay Bar and then a good polish would do for that paint.

Yeah, I get it. Unfortunately it's not just the residual spots left over from the wash as the reason I think it needs a repaint. I have a small rust spot that reared it's ugly head in the passenger's rocker, some old bondo work on the hood that has given up and left the building, and a pretty decent sized chip/scratch from something falling and hitting the roof at the A pillar on the passenger side. Then there's my header panel that was previously scratched by my ex who decided to repair it with Rustoleum. She got the whole fender and ripped off the driver's mirror at a car wash and tried to hide it from me that way. I had the fender stripped and repainted, not sure why the shop decided to not take care of the header panel when they did that, so it's a whatever moment.... And there are a couple of sags/runs in the C sculpted area on both quarters that would be great if they were taken care of too. Then there are the vinyl stripes - it'd be great if they were actually painted on. They dried and cracked in the Georgia sun since I wasn't able to keep it under a roof regularly, so I replaced them. The first set left ghost marks so I had to really try to keep them lined up when I reapplied them, now the replacements are starting to show their age. Don't get me wrong, it still looks great from a few steps away, but it's a case of death by a thousand cuts on why I think it's due.

Pulled the Cobra out of the back garage and into the big one, then jacked it up in preparation for it's new tires. The brakes have felt somewhat spongy the last few times I've driven it around the block, figured I'd go through them while I have it in the air. I went ahead and ordered all new wheel cylinders, calipers, master cylinder, and brake hoses so it's getting the full on rebuild treatment. Don't think they're something I want to play around with. Actually debated on getting the 11 inch brake conversion from Speedway, but stopped short of pulling the trigger for now. While I'd definitely like to upgrade I think I've spent enough over the past week or so, so the little voice in my head prevailed and I didn't do it. Another deciding factor is that I'd have to redrill the rotors for our 4x4.25 bolt circle as I'm not looking to go so far as a 5 lug swap with new wheels and the works....

I won't ruin a nice Cobra. I'll find a roller on it's last leg for a project like this if I ever committed to it.

Went to take the wheels off the car and they're being stubborn. The lugs are recessed in the wheels and require a thin wall socket. The only socket that I have that fits is a 3/8 drive. What I've done in the past is use that socket with a 1\2 - 3\8 adapter and zipped them with my impact and never had a problem until now. I ended up breaking 2 adapters trying to break them loose with a breaker bar, so I said enough is enough and ordered a new thin wall 1\2 drive impact socket that should arrive tomorrow. But the Nittos arrived today, so I crawled under both sides to take a look at clearances, there shouldn't be a problem, there's plenty of clearance to add ~5mm, if not more.
