I feel asleep during the game b/c I was so tired from work but I just checked the score and as I expected no big surprise. Going back to what I said before about the AFC being so much better then the NFC. You had the #2 NFC team playing the #1 AFC team, you would have thought that the score would be much closer then it was but as I stated before the NFC has nothing for the AFC. Expect this to be a continuing trend all season long when ever there are conference VS Conference games

That analogy won't hold. Saints just had a bad game. Peyton is too goo of a coach to let things like last night happen again. As bad as it was the score was tied at the half. For some reason the Saints didn't adjust at the half and the wheels came off.

There are some good teams in the NFC...don't let one game fool you. (I am a Dolphins fan though)

Im not basing it on one game. Im basing on the current trend in the NFL over the past 5+ years. Patriots 3 Superbowl's, Ravens, Colts, Steelers exc...

There were teams going 8-8 and making the playoffs in the NFC last yr, whats that say for the entire conference? Patriots go 12-4 and get a wild card, whats that say for the AFC?

Parity?

It goes in cycles. I'm not defending either conference because it makes no difference to me. If my teams don't make the playoffs I could care less if one conference looks better than the other.

I just wish the Saints would have made a better game of it. That drive after the Colts TD in the 3rd where they had a first down called back on a penalty. The very next play Brees threw an interception and it was all downhill. Plus the Colts picked on David all night. You would have figured sometime in preseason he would have realized he couldn't play cover 2 defense in man to man coverage. By the time he realized he didn't need to be looking in at the QB he was burnt...3 times. He is being roasted on local sports radio today.

Of course it does, I never said it didnt. Back in the 90's it was all San Francisco 49'ers and Dallas Cowboys. Only point that Im making is the AFC is much better then the NFC and it has been for a quite a few years now. I know when it comes to AFC VS NFC match ups this season for my football pool Im always picking the AFC b/c the odds are more in your favor for winning that game, hence the colts VS Saints.

After last night I'm not so sure...I've gone into "typical Saints" mode. Happens every season after a good one.

Maybe my Dolphins will surprise...

I hate to say it, but I'm glad the saints lost. It'll be a huge motivator for them. Bring them back down to earth

Hopefully they'll go on a streak

but as I say every season, if the Saints only go 2-14, I'll be happy, so long as they beat the Falacan'ts twice

Hes right, look at the head to head AFC/NFC records. The best 4 teams are in the AFC.

Imo

1 - Chargers (best overall talent, but will depend on coaching)
2 - Colts and Pats (If colts can play like they did thursday they are the clear #2 if not #1 team, but 1 game doenst a season make)
4 - Ravens

It's hard to say. There are SO many strong teams in the AFC.

About the NFC though, It is a bit ridiculous when teams can make the playoffs at 8-8. Wouldn't doubt seeing a 7-9 team in there...

Bears may have been to the Superbowl last season, but they are not even in the top 5 in the NFL. I wouldn't even rank a NFC team until the 6th or 7th spot and the bears are definitely not a the top NFC team.
