Apparently they didnt tape the final walk through of the Giants like they supposedly did to the 01 Rams.

The only way I could be happier today is if the Colts won the superbowl.

You know, I kinda figured once the NFL realised EVERYONE outside of MA is tired of the Pats bull**** they'd start 'discovering' more cheating.

Yeah I hear that. He made one post and said he will see everyone in the fall. Can't face the music. All that smack talking and arrogance and we get one post??? HEll my team was bounced in the first round! I was here. I called it the way the Superbowl would end up too. He was the first to be on here to gloat and belittle the loosing teams fans to rub it in but cant face the music. Kinda of a bitchy move if you ask me

Belichick has left the building...a second early

February 4, 2008 12:03 AM

Patriots coach Bill Belichick didn't stick around long enough to watch the Giants celebrate their 17-14 victory. When Tom Brady's Hail Mary pass to Randy Moss fell incomplete with a second to go, Belichick made a beeline to greet Giants coach Tom Coughlin before proceeding directly to the locker room.

The only problem is that NFL rules require that the entire game be played out. Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady were long gone, but the Patriots defense had to jog back onto the field. After the game, linebacker Junior Seau told me he was almost to the locker room when someone said the game wasn't over. Seau came jogging out of the tunnel for the final play. Belichick cooled his heels in the locker room.

He was asked why he left the field with time left on the clock, but I don't think he understood the question. By my count, Belichick didn't have an answer longer than eight words in his post-game news conference.

In his opening statement, he said: "Congratulations to the Giants. They made some plays there at the end and we didn't. It's disappointing."

He then repeated eight different variations of that statement. The smug look that has helped make him one of the great villains in sports was on display, but his mind wasn't. It was like the questions weren't even registering.

One of the players told me that Belichick couldn't come up with anything to say in the postgame locker room. He basically acknowledged that it was a disappointing loss and headed to the interview podium.

I've never seen a coach arrive for his interview that quickly. The first question asked was about the Boston Herald report Saturday indicating the Patriots filmed a Rams walkthrough before the 2001 Super Bowl. A reporter wanted him to respond to the Rams' comments on the report.

"I haven't heard them," he said.

Belichick was then questioned about his decision to go for it on fourth-and-13 in the third quarter rather than attempt a 49-yard field goal. Tom Brady tried a deep pass to Jabar Gaffney on the play that sailed out of bounds.

"Yeah, but it was a 50-yard field goal," he said before muttering something about field position.

The only risk involved was giving the Giants the ball at the 39-yard line instead of the 31. At that point, the Giants had only managed to put three points on the board. How do you give up a scoring opportunity over eight lousy yards?

Even Belichick's mentor Bill Parcells, who is consumed with field position, wouldn't pass up that opportunity. It was a bone-headed move at a crucial point in the game.

Oh, and here's Belichick's longest response: "I mean look, they played well. They made some plays, we made some plays. In the end, they made a couple more than we did."

The good news is that Belichick got an early jump on the offseason. Back with much, much more in a few moments.

I mean I dont want this to get personal but all I hear is him saying how great the Pats are and how bad everyone else is..Yet no one runs and hides when their team looses except one. You cant talk that big and arrogant and then when your team looses, run away.

According to ESPN and other sports shows, Brady and Belichick both ran away with 2 seconds left on the clock instead of waiting for the final play. The Pats defence had to get back on the field while Brady & Belichick ran for the locker room. Maybe this is where the douche-bag, cowardly attitude comes from?

I know what you are saying but not ALL pats fans are like that. And Redline didn't get it from those two because he like the rest of us wont even get NEAR to playing in the NFL. But that smug arrogance made them look like hell after the game. Its nice to see all the press coverage including Brady's "We are only gonna score 17?" mean so much more

He did nothing but rip my team alll season long.. Didn't want to hear what I had to say. I was never a hater yet for some reason he always attacked the Giants and I felt like i was always on the defense. Gave the Giants no chance, no matter how much they proved. Ragged on eli all the way till the end. And in the end, it was HIS team that folded. THEY were beaten, and beaten bad by the giants.. the Big Blue Wrecking crew..

Now where is the big chit talking mouth? Ahh no where to be found just like his brady and moss pulling out of the pro bowl.. Don't you worry when one of us g-men fans makes the thread next season and he posts, we'll make sure he hears it..

Faboulous season gentlemen (those of you who have the class and decency)..

here's to you and your team

PS: wasn't it redline who said (meaning I and others who aren't fan's of teh smack talk) that this is the NFL thread and that when a team looses feel free to bash. He even went so far as to say we would never be able to bash him because the pats won't loose. Funny, they loose, yet he can't take the punishment

i totally agree with you..

it means so much more, considering how arrogant he was like you said, and how it all bit him in the ass..

Im a Giant fan through the thick and the thin,, today we are world champions and shocked the NFL and fans.. Im proud to be a Giant fan no matter what, but this superbowl is bitter sweet..

Redline isnt here because he is a fair weather fan, they didnt win so he isnt chest thumping. You can bet he will be back next year if the Pats are doing well again.

His fanhood will fade as time goes on and the Pats go back to reality.

Chooooooke!
Whether this was the most heartbreaking loss in Boston history boils down to a matter of personal opinion of cowhide over pigskin, or vice versa wrote Eric Wilbur of Boston.com.

Whether it was the worst loss is certainly up for debate. In time, the Manning Escape will go down in Boston sports infamy, like Bucky Dent, Bill Buckner, and Aaron Boone before it. But to ask whether it is the biggest choke in all of New England sports history is a no-brainer: It absolutely is.

With all that was at stake, the 18-0 Patriots coughed up a chance at perfection by failing to adjust to the Giants' speed rush attack on Tom Brady, and found themselves making the curious mistakes that they usually force out of their opponents. Gone is Lombardi, 19-0, and NFL coronation, replaced with the ignominy of being the first 18-0 team in history to collapse at the most inopportune time.
