Yeah the league I am in, is the stangnet league and the draft was kinda weird. It was automatic all you did was rank the players by position and then what position you want to draft in each round.

Imo it would have been better to just pick whatever player you want at your pick but whatever works.

Yeah that's ideal, but tough to arrange online with so many people. Its tough enough to get 12 people in the same room in person, could you imagine trying to get everyone logged on over the net. If you do a live draft and someone is logged in....sometimes it'll wait forever for that person to get their turn while they're off in the bathroom jerking off because the new Pboy came in the mail.

Well lets think about this here. Belichick's career record is 124-84, which is .596 winning percentage while Shanahan is 140-86 for .619 (so no Redline, he does not have the best winning percentage). Shanahan has also enjoyed success just about everywhere he's been while Belichick was run out of Cleveland after only posting 1 winning record in 5 years there.

Those are the facts.

Now if we want to talk about opinions, I think the Patriots made Belichick and not the other way around. He sucked in Cleveland and the Patriots haven't looked the same since Romeo Crennel and Charile Weis left.

Shanahan on the other hand, had Denver in the AFC Championship in his 2nd year and won back to back Super Bowls in his 3rd and 4th years. His only losing season with the Broncos came in 99 after we won the Super Bowl when Elway retired and we lost TD, Sharpe and John Mobley within the first half of the season. Even then, he was only a few lucky bounces away from 9-7. Shanahan made Brian Griese and Jake Plummer look like good quarterbacks, turn absolute nobodies into 1500 yard rushers and ALWAYS has his team in the hunt despite still trying to reload from the Super Bowl years.

Belichick is definetly a good coach, and I don't believe the margin between him and Shanny is that great, but any sensible person who looks at the bigger picture is going to take Shanahan over him.

Bringing up the browns record when belichick had no control over personal decisions makes no sense. The browns sucked with or without belichick. I don't care how good of a coach you are when your team sucks they suck.

I agree with you that shannahan is a great coach. After belichick I think he is probably the best. I don't put it the other way around as you do.

Also, remember today that you played the Jets, who are far from a good team.

HUH??????? The jets were a playoff team that has improved. Must I remind you the broncos did not make the playoffs last year.

How about we all just come to an agreement that seems fair and is a compromise.

All teams suck except for the Bengals.

Youre not sensible imo, you are biased as is gt40 towards Billichick, but Im not since I dont root for either team. In fact I would go against New England anytime I can.

Lets break this down
First lets start with your boy

1988 Raiders - 7-9
1989 Raiders - 8-8

Playoff appearances - 0 (Id hardly consider that success as you mentioned in your post)

Playoff Pct - 0% (0/0 appearances)

1995 Denver - 8 - 8 missed playoffs
1996 Denver - 13 - 3 Divisional game loss
1997 Denver - 12 - 4 SB win
1998 Denver - 14 - 2 SB win
1999 Denver - 6 - 10 missed playoffs
2000 Denver - 11 - 5 Wild card game loss
2001 Denver - 8 - 8 missed playoffs
2002 Denver - 9 - 7 missed playoffs
2003 Denver - 10 - 6 Wild card game loss
2004 Denver - 10 - 6 Wild card game loss
2005 Denver - 13 - 3 AFC title game
2006 Denver - 9 - 7 missed playoffs

Playoff appearances - 7, 3 AFC title games, 2 SB Wins

Playoff Pct - 58% (7/12 season)
AFC Title Game Pct - 42% (3/7)
Title Pct - 28% (2/7)

That means he has made the playoffs 58% of his games with Denver and really other than 2005 didnt pose any serious threat to go to the Super Bowl, espcially with 3 1st or 2nd round losses and 4 times not even making the playoffs in the 8 years since Elway.

Now lets look at the big sweatshirt

1991 Cleveland - 6 - 10
1992 Cleveland - 7 - 9
1993 Cleveland - 7 - 9
1994 Cleveland - 11 - 5 1 playoff win
1995 Cleveland - 5 - 11

Playoff appearances - 1 wins 1

Playoff Pct - 20% (1/5)
AFC Title Game Pct - 0% (0/1)
Title Pct - 0% (0/1)

Although his stint at Cleveland wasnt stellar at least he took his team to a playoff appearance and even a win unlike Shannahan at Oakland.

2000 New England - 5-11
2001 New England - 11 -5 SB Win
2002 New England - 9-7 missed playoffs
2003 New England - 14-2 SB Win
2004 New England - 14-2 SB Win
2005 New England - 10-6 Divisional Round Loss
2006 New England - 12-4 AFC title loss

Playoff appearances - 5, 4 AFC title games, 3 Superbowls

Playoff Pct - 71% (5/7 seasons)
AFC Title Game Pct - 80% (4/5)
Title Pct - 60% (3/5)

I dont know about you , but Id say Bellichiks playoff resume is better than Shannahans wouldnt you?

If you still dont believe the stats, then correct me if I am wrong but isnt the ultimate goal to win championships. Who has more Billichick of Shannahan.

Bellichick 3 SB wins in 12 total seasons and 3 in 7 seasons with the Pats
Shannahan 2 SB wins in 14 total seasons and 2 in 12 seasons with the Broncos

Yeah thats what I though. The facts remains Denver has not been a viable superbowl contender since the 1998 title season. NE has won 3 since then.
You obvioulsy can think whatever you want and Shannahan is a good coach for sure but he is not currently one of the elite coaches.

None of that changes the fact that Shanahan has a better career winning record than Belichick, and again, how about that head to head record? Since BB has been in New England his only win against Shanahan was a 2003 game in which we were done to our 3rd string quarterback. We still would have won that game had the sucktastic Deltha O'Neal not blown his coverage.

Also you must remember that Shanahan took over a talented but aging Broncos team. He's had to replace John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Terrell Davis, Gary Zimmerman, Neil Smith, Alfred Williams and so forth. Regardless of that, he's fielded teams that have been competitive every year except 1999. He's also made Brian Griese and Jake Plummer look like top notch QBs when they clearly were not, and he's turned out elite running back after elite running back. Also, look at the teams that Shanahan took to the playoffs post Elway. They were really NOT that talented, but Shanny got them there anyways. Belichick never had that problem, as he already had Bledsoe on the team and happened to find a real gem in Tom Brady.

Oh, and do we really need to get into AFC West vs. AFC East here? And again I'll mention how that Patriots team hasn't looked the same since Weis and Crennel left.

Belichick is definetly a top notch coach and I have alot of respect for him, but all other things being equal there is no way I'd take him over Shanahan.

Your entitled to think that. I'll take the coach with 3 recent superbowl rings.

And I'll take the one with 2 superbowl rings and one of the youngest and most talented teams in the NFL. The way the Broncos looked on Sunday, they might make a serious run at the Bowl this year.

APPARENTLY..... them pats are cheaters... maybe thats why his prercentage is so high PWN3D!

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3014677

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has determined that the New England Patriots violated league rules Sunday when they videotaped defensive signals by the New York Jets' coaches, according to league sources.

NFL security officials confiscated a camera and videotape from Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella on the New England sidelines when it was suspected he was recording the Jets' defensive signals. Sources say the visual evidence confirmed the suspicion.

Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including the possibility of docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks" because it is the competitive violation in the wake of a stern warning to all teams since he became commissioner, the sources said. The Patriots have been suspected in previous incidents.

Dam I miss the news because I didnt want to watch the 9/11 stuff and I miss all this.....

I dont agree with the loss of draft picks because that is not an immediate loss to the team, how about a coaching suspension like in NASCAR when they dump a crew chief for 3 races. Or something like that. Dont get me wrong losing draft picks for next season is BAD but not an affect on this season.

This is terrible. They should be credited a loss for the game or something.

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!

Bills Everett may walk again

Funny...my wife was telling me my two sons were watching the Bengals and Ravens. My oldest is a big Bengals fan so he was watching with my 6 year old. After the Bengals would score my oldest would show his brother how to do an endzone dance. Wish I would have been home to see it.

Do what they do in college ball.. Ban them from tournament play. No matter what the Pats record may be this season do not let them play in the playoffs.. That and the win should be reversed and Jets be given that win, and suspend coach Belichick for 3 game.. See if they ever cheat again
