umm.....did you happen to catch the post-game???

NO...well I did....and that's when Steve Young compared Eli Manning to Tom Brady...yes, that's right, Tom F'n Brady!!!

Then, that's also when Emmit Smith & Stuart Scott agreed with him!!!!!

I've been searching all freaking morning to find a video or transcript from the post-game show since I know that no one will believe me (Redline_351R)

oh-well...I'll keep looking...

since when has it really matterd what commentators say? A lot of them say stuff like that b/c it brings up controversy which is needed in any sport. In what aspect are they comparing Eli to Brady? Not that it really matters b/c Eli is nothing but avg QB in the NFL and he wouldnt have gone in the 1st round if it was not for his last name. Eli came into the NFL with high expectations and has yet to live up to any of them. Brady took over as a starter and everyone was like who the F is this guy? Eil is no where close to his brother and IMO he will never reach the status of Tom Brady. It takes a lot more then your last name to be really good in the NFL and its something that Eli just does not have skills wise or leadership wise.

They were comparing his pocket presence and delivery of the ball...I actually saw Eli scramble out of the pocket and throw with confidence last night...I, myself, was shocked!!

I'm still on the boat that he'll become a great quarterback

Want to know why I find that funny

Eli has a total of 11 TD's so only 3 more have been thrown to receivers other then burress. Brady has 21 TD's so he knows how to spread the wealth very well. Burress is all eli has and thats apparent. Also wanted to throw in the fact manning as 8 int's on 11 TD's and Brady has 2 INT's on 21 TD's so you can stop comparing Eli Manning to Tom Brady anytime now.

Great as in how? Superbowl rings? Breaking records? NFC/(god forbid AFC) Championships?

IMO Eli will go down as someone who will be able to take his team to the playoffs on random years but will never be a team leader and does not have the tallent to even get his team to a superbowl. Id love to be proven wrong but I dont ever see that happening.

Do you really believe that? He is better than alot of the other QBs in the league.

Your name will only get you so far, when it comes to Pro sports you need to be able to play to stay in the league.

I do think Eli is good enough to be in the NFL. There are other QB's who came into the leauge who had high expectations and did not preform well at all..IE Ryan Leaf.

They were talking about Eli VS Payton last night and said that when Payton was at the same point that Eli is now in his career he had yet to really do much of anything. He had not won a playoff game or put up shocking numbers either. Im not sticking up for Eli Im just saying it goes both ways. If you were to stick Eli with the colts or the Patriots you would not have the same results as you do with Brady and Payton, I dont think you would ever get the same results at any point in his career.

i really wasnt compairing much else except that they are leading the leauge right now as far qb-reciever combos go.. So you can stop saying im compairing every aspect of the two QB's So toomer and shockey and moss aren't existant? so what they havent scored TD's, doesn't mean he doesnt have other wepons

I really hope he comes around. I think he will be a good QB in the future hopefully that can lead his team to the superbowl ANY team in the NFL can be beat... There is no "safe" team or "sure" win

Peyton vs Eli vs Brady in their first 47 or 48 games (appx 3 seasons)

Peyton M..........48............60.43.....12,287...111......58.....85.53

Numbers calculated came from the following
Peyton Manning - year 1 - 3
Tom Brady - 1 game year 1, 15 games year 2, 16 games year 3 and 4
Eli Manning - 9 games year 1, 16 games year 2 and 3, 6 games this year

Its a good comparison but QB's are also a product of their environment. Meaning the receivers they have around them and the line that protects them. Strictly stats wise Eli falls behind Brady and Payton but Payton also has always had Marvin Harrison. Brady has always had...well no huge big name receivers until this year.

IMO Eli's biggest mistake he ever made was when he passed up going to the Chargers. That was a team that had weapons...LT, Gates.. a great defense exc Its a good system for a Young QB to go into. A young QB's weakness can be masked by a good running game like SD has had for awhile now and by a defense that can take pressure off the offense.

IMO the Giants are a team who had it coming together, until Tiki left, Jacobs is no Tiki Barber. The defense is coming together but I expect players to come and go and for them to never really become one of the top defense's in the league..IE San Diego, Pittsburgh, New England, Indy. The Giants for years to come will hover around the .500 mark and make wild card appearences in the playoffs but never really be a serious contender for much more then that, unless of course the NFC gets even worse then it is now, if thats possible.

Anyone think the Saints are back? Looked good against the Seagulls.

And Dolphins trade Chambers to San Diego? They already dealt Welker. I think Huzienga needs to sell the team to someone who cares.

back as in what, having an obove .500 season?

Dallas is going to win the NFC championship the saints are still wreck. After going 0-5 if the saints some how did come back and make a run for the playoffs it just stresses the fact more of how bad the NFC is.

I agree with pretty much everything your saying.... Im actually shocked and I don't know whether to take this as a knock or kind of an acknologment

The only thing i dont agree with is the Tiki comment.. I don't think the recieving yards could be made up that easily, but the Ward/Jacobs/Droughs running combo will make up for the rushing yards. Ward has proved to be a "decent" runner.

No way dude. NE beat the piss out of a good Dallas team. NE looks sick right now. Guess all that taping of other teams signals payed off LOL! I don't think that has much to do with it. Indy NE will be a GREAT game. Oh yeah, don't count out the Steelers either man. Hey Travis, now that Cowher is not our coach, do you still hate Pittsburgh?

Agreed. Joe Theisman gave his expert analysis by saying, " Well the only way this team will win is if they score more points than the other team."

Brilliant.

Greenbay would get crushed in the AFC. They probably would be the third best team in the AFC South.
