Wow, CO, how did LSU pull that off? That was an impressive come behind win! Wish it had been on tv here!
I have no clue. I have never seen a game where a team looked so bad for 3 quarters and come back the way they did. I know it was Troy but that team isn't like your normal rent-a-win. They play very well. If I hadn't had to work I'd have left and I always razz people who leave early. It was one of the most exciting 4th quarters I have witnessed.

I was rooting for Troy.. go SBC!

I may be totally wrong, but it seems that every week the SEC continues to try and prove that its much closer to the Big 10 and ACC than the Big 12.

Imo Florida is the best team in the country along with OU and UT, however outside of Bama and UF the SEC is WAY OVER RATED. LSU is mediocre, UGA is solid but the rest of the league is garbage.

It's a down year. We can't be great every season so every once and a while we give everyone else some bragging rights. :D

See thats the thing, yes its a down year compared to 06 and 07. However before 06 the SEC was hardly the dominant conference. So it may be down compared to recent success but not for how the conference is historically.

Every so often the power shakes up and the SEC had a run of 2 years and this year its down with the rest of the pack. Who knows how things will be next year but UF and Bama arent going anywhere but we will see about the rest of them.

Big 12 has 8, SEC has 6, ACC has 5 and the PAC 1+9 has 3. In the last few years, other than USCw the champions have come from two conferences. SEC will have 3 in a row come January.

what are the chances of Florida and Bama playing in the title game? Would the system allow two teams from the same conference to play?

No way since they'll play each other to end the regular season in the SEC Championship game. No way the loser of the SEC Championship game gets in before the Big 12 Championship game winner if it's the South contender and if it's Mizzo that wins that game, then USC get's in before the SEC CG loser.

The system could allow it if both contenders came from the same division within the same conference. As an example, if Georgia was totally dominant all year and lost close and respectably to Florida, they could make a case. They would finish 2nd in the SEC East and not make the SEC title game, but could get a rematch if Florida dominated the SEC title game and everyone else is a 1 loss team or worse.

well, what if this happens. Florida is dominant all year (have they lost a game?) and go undefeated. Bama get's one lose prior to the CG after a dominant season, but loose on a last second hail mary from a really good team. They meet up, and both have a one lose record. No other team has less then 2 loses. Wouldn't that, at least mathematically by BCS standards pit Florida and Bama in the BCS game?

Not that I want to see that happen, just wondering.....

florida has one loss (ole miss). after the sec champ game, it will either be bama with a loss, and UF with a loss, or UF with 2 losses. no chance they'll take both teams unless everyone else happens to get another loss but those 2, which probably wont happen....
