Well i got a letter in the mail today from the state stating that I will not be able to renew my driver license in Sept. Why?Supposedly I have an unpaid $700 ticket.....

I guess it really is my fault in a way.I got this ticket about 3 years ago and honestly forgot about it completely because I was taking some really potent RX meds that would cause memory loss and unable to concentrate.I was taking these for my disablilty that I have and now am unable to work cause of it.

This small town of about pop.200 I got it in turned it into the state as non payment and for me to be able to renew my DL I have to pay $700.They then tell me if I am caught driving after it expires its a $500 fine and 6 months in jail....WTF.

Sorry, but i just kinda needed to vent a lil.But this sux,but I wanted a new mid pipe and possibly springs....I guess I will be waiting longer now....

sorry to hear that. I hate how when you are about to buy something for the stang some BS pops up like this. I was $300 from finally getting the last pieces for my supercharger together and ended up getting a ticket that cost me, you guessed it $300. I was so pissed because it pushed everything back about a month and a half.

I know exactly what your going threw. about 10 years ago I went to renew my license and they told me I couldnt because I had a problem in Maine. so I called Maine up and they said I need to file a sr22 in that state from a ticket 13 years ago. So I had to file the sr22 got my license renewed then let the sr22 cancel. Oregon (where I live) said they cant suspend me just cant renew. So I thought every 4 years I was going to have to file in Maine to get my license back but lucky for me they had a 16 limitation on it so now Im ok.

i forgot about a ticket once like that, when you get 5 in 2 weeks its hard to remember all of em, i lost my licence over it too... then i ignored it, went to collections.. i didnt have enough money to pay the entire thing, so they garnished my wages... i got my licence back in a month from starting point of garnish to licence... i tell ya man it cost me $500 extra to get that ticket paid off..

funny thing is i didnt know that my licence was suspended till they sent me a letter to go and get a new one.. whoops, good thing the stang was down for that month!!

Thats what I was thinking when I read that.Normally I dont let things like this go,but when your on RX meds that seriouly make it difficult to add 2+2 without thinking about it, something like this can get away from you very easily.

At that time I was taking 12 different pills a day and some of those 12 I had to take 3x's,like Vicodine 3-5x's daily(I think we all know what this is),Neurontin(suppreses the nervous system), and Cymbalta(Anti Depresant to also keep my mind from pain) and some other pills to help fool the brain to think it was in another state of mind.

It just sux cause I got the money for the Mach and now I gotta pay this,I am on disability and cant work so $700 is alot for me at times.

Its bad enough that some of us leve hectic lives but being on meds like that makes something like forgetting about a ticket even more understandable. well, at least to me. some people think they are perfect and feel everyone else should be too.

Thx for understanding. The only good thing that went my way during those times was that some how I was able to keep the 01 GT,never missed a payment or was late.Honestly that car is what helped me mentaly to make it through it all,can you beleive a car did that!

No I have never forgot to pay anything that could get my license suspended or get me a warrant. Is that so hard to believe

1) Did you use to own a Spec V? Then later bought a red 98 'Stang converted to PI for like 7G and might have had a Mazda somewhere in between your plethora of cars?

2) To the guy on Rx meds, when it's important, write it on a calendar so you won't forget.

True,my wife is always telling me to write stuff down. But then I prob would have forgot to look at the calendar...

Also what I thought was kinda odd was there is no warrant issued... I guess since I cant renew my DL they figure they didnt need to issue one.

SO I take it you have very bad headaches?

But seriously dude, taking 12 different pills like THOSE are NOT good for you at all. Maybe im not understanding the full extent of your problem, but are that many pills really needed? Sorry not to pry, but man that concerns me....thats not good. Taking one pill to combat the symptoms of the other...just a big money market.

Anywho, sorry to hear about your issues But with memory loss like your having with those pills, someone should have been there to help you out....sure as heck shouldnt have been in a car driving alone IMO. But glad you dont have to work anymore, that way you can chill out at home when you have to do that

Buddy of mine has VERY bad headaches and is in a simular boat as you....now unable to work because of it

Ok let me explain a bit.My wife was with me so I wasnt alone. My doc also said I could drive,so if he thought it was safe I figured it was ok,besides I really wasnt driving alot then either and all this was in 2005,since then Im not taking all that med but I have a hard time remembering some things from that time. The meds mostly messed with memory.

Now for my problems.1st off I have diabetes and have to take 5-8 insulin shots a day...that really sux.And because of the diabetes I had developed nerve damage in 2005 through out my extremeties. There was a time I couldnt walk or even wear clothes since the damage made my skin extremely sinsitive. Now for this kind of nerve damage there is not any rx meds to help with pain.So what the doc did was put me on meds for other illness's that would help to deal with the pain until other meds and vitamin supplements took effect, usually takes 6 months to a year for that. The vicodene didnt really numb the pain but helped with some pain in the muscles....cramps and charlie horses.

The pain is mostly under control now,I just have to pace myself at everything I do,and it takes me alot longer to do things than it should but Ive learned to live with the pain.I try to be a very safe driver and the doc said I fine to drive,Im the type of person that if I drink half a beer I will not drive at all.

Now did I really need them all....YES I did.I went to several docs before the one that actually did any good and they tried to put me on 1 or 2 meds and I wasnt improving....I was getting worse.SO once I knew what was really wrong I went to a specialist and thats what he did to me.

I didnt feel anyone was prying so no offense taken and thx for all that are concerned. Now as for sitting at home chillin.....its fun for about 3 weeks than after that your bored outta your mind.I play guitar, drums and bass, but with the damage I can no longer play the drums. So I basicaly sit around all day jamming on guitar, building some plastic model cars and Stangnet.... No tv for me,cant stand all the reality tv.

Sorry for the long post but thats my story.

Holy smokes dude....wow. Man I really feel for ya, and now that I understand I can tatally see your position. Heck I would be driving too if the doc says its ok
I
say just write them a note like that and they would have to be total loosers to not just drop it....you have been through a lot I will def keep you in my prayers, and im really glad to see that you have an upbeat attitude about everything. I guess you come to realize that if your alive and still have your family, then there is nothing to be down about
Keep up the high spirits man, it will all work out
