Pro 5.0 with Pro 5.0 handle...too short
Pro 5.0 with MGW handle...too long
Pro 5.0 with Tri-ax handle...just right!

Now that Ive tried them all I would say that is the way to go. And when I took it for a spin instead of my usual second gear chirp it was a second gear fishtail. Its good to be back in the short throw business.

Hey Goldilocks, you should have looked into the Kona handle from www.konaracing.com. Just like the steeda but made of steel or even TITANIUM! I've been using their steel handle for several months and it's great!

Why not buy the tri ax from the start and be done with it???
Pro 5.0 and tri ax are similar products...To each his own I guess.

I had a Tri-ax on my 01 and wanted to try something different. I like the Pro 5.0 better but the handle was too short for me since I have the seat all the way back.

I haven't tried the pro 5.0 so I have no idea first hand how the two compare. Only what I've read re: other drivers. Just curious, cause I see alot of people swapping handles out...I'm pretty happy with the tri ax. No problems shifting in any gear. I love how I can just slap it into each gear.

The Pro 5.0 feels smoother and less clunky/notchy than the Tri-ax. But you cant go wrong with either one.

I've been hoping to see someone post about this. I have the Pro 5.0 and I don't like the reach. I'm only 5'11" so I don't sit that far back, but 3rd and 5th are almost out of reach. I might try out that Kona handle since its a little cheaper.

I really love the MGW handle on my Pro 5.0

I thought the Tri-ax is noisier than the Pro 5.0 too
I don't know how it makes noise at all, but people always complain

I used the rubber spacer from the MGW handle between my Tri-ax handle and shifter to take away that metal on metal feel when shifting gears. It works great, especially on that 1-2 cold grind. I recommend getting some kind of thin rubber washers to put between the handle and the shifter. So far it doesnt take away from the shift at all.

Pro-5.0 shifter with Pro-5.0 shorty handle and stock grip here.

3 and 5 are a bit of a stretch, I agree... but the 1-2 is so fast with this config that it serves my purposes just fine.

Virtually no lost time when leaping to 60 MPH on the street, which is better to shut people down early, IMO, before you go and break the law bigtime.

For the 1/8th & 1/4 (on the track!), I'd think this setup with a longer handle (or at least more bent towards driver) would be best... easier to rock it up into 3rd. But no way I'd ever soften it up. I like to feel exactly where I'm at in the gearbox.

Probably rattles less noticably than Tri-ax because it is heavier (billet steel).

Adding rubber/plastic isolators just remove you too much from the hardware, IMO. Cushions are for seats. But to each their own...

V8 Mustang is the wrong car if you are looking for cushy refinement, I think.
