I have a 99' Cobra with all of your usual bolt-ons I want to add gears I was thinking 4:10 is there anyone out there with 4:10 on there Cobra that could tell me if there is a huge difference in gas consumption for highway miles is there a difference in the sreet miles. For now this is my commuter car takes me to school and work in about a year i will turn it into a weekend car and will be adding a blower should I wait on the gears or is the gas millage not that different.

I believe when I was n/a and had 4.10's my tank would get about 20-30 miles less per tank...so that's about 1 to 2 miles less per gallon...no big deal.

I would say 4.30's though.

I haven't noticed a difference in gas mileage. Some say you get more, some say you get less, some say it will stay the same depending on how you drive it. I see that you are planning on a blower. In that case, you might want to think about 3.73s. You definitely don't want 4.30s on a blown Cobra IMO. If you were staying N/A however, I'd agree with going 4.30 vice 4.10. Good luck with your decision. Ray

honesty there is not as big a difference as youd think, i just put 410s on my 99 and only in 1st gear is traction and issue and there is alot more wheelhop but as far as gas mileage, it will only affect you if you drive alot on the highway but nothing to bad. Go with 410s because you can still use a blower with those gears

The difference between 4.10 and 4.30's is 5%....not that much at all.

I have a 99 cobra with 4.10s, every thing is good, 1st and 2nd gear are beastly, kinda falls off after that.

True that. I can tell you it is tough to hook first gear N/A with 4:10's. If you're thinking about FI, I would definitely consider a taller gear.

4.30 - 4.10 = .2 Which is equal to 150 rpms. Go 4.30's. -Mark

I think I wish I had done 430's, but 410s are easy to hook for me at least, just get good street tires and your fine. My second gear actually does not seem to pull much harder at all than with my old 327's...maybe it is because it does not stay in the powerband as long, but I am really dissapointed for 2nd, I thought it would pull alot harder, I thought it would pull like 1st gear with the 327's. But Im just one of those that is never satisfied because you can never have too much power or too many mods. but the added wheep hop def sucks!!
