I was in Tucson today and stopped to look at a 65 coupe 289, auto factory A/C rally wheels. Clear coat from last repaint was peeling all over, interior was shot, had been hit at one time on driver door paint didn't match, door was off by almost 1/4 of an inch, A/C didn't work. Priced at 6k firm. I passed.

The problem is this is like the commodities market as people buy just to resale this drives up the price I would appear that you have milked your area. You should not complain you have done this to your self.

I'm still kicking myself about the one that got away. Of course it was back in 1985 or so. My neighbor had a HI-PO fastback GT with original rally pack, 8 track tape player and 4-speed. It was in good shape with a banged up front fender. He was asking $1,800 for it. Excuse me while I kick myself a couple more times................Ouch!!!!!Ouch!!!!! I bet he wishes he had it back too.

I thought everyone was crazy for selling these junkers for so much money. I guess I'm the crazy one for selling my cars too cheap. I am SERIOUSLY regretting the sale of my last 66 now. I just looked at a 65 mustang that was solid, but needed EVERYTHING for 13k. I sold my seriously built complete driver 66 gt350 clone for 13,500

Here is an example of one of the ways you can find one: It's called pure luck.

I was at my sons baseball game a few weeks ago and I drove the Stang, well it is sort of loud and sounds kind of, well bad ass so when I pull up everyone turns around to see. I walk up and a guy I have not seen since high school says "nice car, I have one in storage for the last 20 years". I think back to high school 18 years ago and try to think about what this guy drove. It hit me that someone had a nice fastback so I ask him what he's got. He says "fastback", I ask what year, "65" he says. Then I ask if it is V-8 car to which he says "yes, I think it is a GT". I then get interested and ask him details and he answers, " it was my dads car and he called it a K code and it has a factory tach"

I ask him if he would show it to me sometime and he said he would. Didn't ask if he wanted to sell it because I didn't want to scare him off but he is a non-car guy and he said it needs more work than he can give it.

Soon I will be bugging him to look at it, it is in a storage facility 1 mile from my house. Who knows I might get lucky and get a deal.....

You could go to Daytona around Thanksgiving, it's only three months away.
They have a huge Mustang showing there, and a lot of the cars are for sale.

I almost bought a 67 FB in Norman Oklahoma for 13k. But my girlfriend knew a guy she went to school with that had a 67 FB here in Wichita Falls, TX. Long story short I bought his for 9k it was in better shape and it was here in town! So you might want to consider asking some of the ladies you know, you might hit paydirt like myself.

I looked at many pictures of this car and it looks to be very clean and has a nice list of high $ parts on it. A Dart block for one, fuel cell, nitrous, cool interior and many others.

For me the negatives were the color, not bad, just not my style and it had a C-6 rather than a C-4 tranny....

Really nice ride though, someone should look at this one.
