A few things that make me laugh (and drive me crazy) about my Mustangs. Has anyone else noticed?
The rear spoiler on the '85 is like a bathtub when you wash the car. Actual gallons of water pool up in the thing. You really could bathe small children, raise goldfish, or survive a week in the desert with all that water. Engineers! What were they thinking?
So along come the '87+ cars, much improved: the tub is redesigned - only as large as a good-sized birdbath now.
Today I was caught out by the rain in the '89, and turned on the wipers for the first time in a year or so... I actually laughed out loud at the wimpy little things flapping around on the windshield. After years of driving newer cars with huge, effective wipers, it was a funny sight.
Last, but not least: Why can't Ford figure out how to make the ignition work like the foreign cars? You know, where you can shut the engine off without turning the stereo off? When I arrive at my destination, and I'm rocking out with Lenny, I want to be able to shut the gas sucker off without interrupting the music. Why can't they figure it out?!
Is it too much to ask?? Is this why BMWs cost so much?
