I was wondering what I should check for when buying a used 98 cobra? It has around 65k on it, with a Vorthec S-Trim which the guy claims has around 6k miles on it. The car has a good amount of mods, and looks like it is in very good condition, just about 400miles away from where I currently live. What kind of things should I look for when I'm up looking at it? I know I will need to run a compression test, but should I check fluids, and maybe do some other tests? Also, do you think that I should just go to a ford dealer to get compression tested, and how long does that usually take?

do a compression/leakdown test to make sure its in good condition. listen for any abnormal sounds, any misses in the throttle, ect. check if the car has been tuned properly/has allthe supporting mods. just see how his knowledge is about the car.

does it have the stock clutch and all that? consider that will be a future expense.

MOST important thing about a blower car will be making sure it has a good tune/has had a good tune on it. good luck, that should give you some things to check over.
