I am contimplating deleting more items from my car. I currently have EGR delete, smog pump delete, front sway bar delete, rear seat delete, trying to clean up the engine bay and make it look cleaner. The battery is relocated to the trunk already. I am considering getting rid of the wiper system all together. If I do I would want to put a smooth cowl panel in that has no holes. Anyone know where I can get one or what else to delete.

you can delete the A/C, powersteering pump, horn, wiperfluid res. With the power steering pump gone its not that hard to steer. Im guessing its strictly a track car since you want to get rid of the wipers.

The car is not just a track car but it is only a nice weather car. It never goes out in the rain.

Rule #1 If you don't know what it does, how it works and how it affects the computer, leave it alone.

Rule #2 any car that is street driven needs horn, wipers and lights. It's the law. Remove the wipers and smog equipment and you can be subject to a heavy fine.

If removing the wipers and smog pump were illegal in all states they wouldn't sell wiper delete covers and smog pump delete brackets.

They sell a lot of things that are supposed to be illegal. Doesnt mean you can run it on the street with no troubles.

Much of the equipment you mentioned is marked for "off road use only". That means that they are for show cars and race cars that are towed or trailered to the race track or car show. Such items were never intended for street legal usage.

I say if it don`t make the car go then its on the delete list, and if it messes up the computer, then toss that too.

i thought some one on here said fla is thinking of starting it. We have it here in ohio but cars 25 years old and older are exempt. I don't have wipers an I don't plan on ever driving it when it might rain. I'll keep rainx on the windshield just in case.

I'd like to remove the hard heater pipes from the intake manifold and remove the heater core. I never use the heater so this would save some weight. Would I still be able to use the AC in our long, hot summers?

Keep in mind that just because your state or county doesn't require emissions testing, IT IS STILL THE LAW that car car have the original emissions equipment installed, and removing it will get you in trouble if you get caught.

I don't think most people realize this.

Technically, under the law, it is 100% illegal to remove ANY emmissions control system on a vehicle. If you remove a smog pump, or EGR or anything, you just broke the law.

Now, does anyone check this stuff?? Not really. But, just because Joe Six-pack down and the mom and pop inspection station lets you slide with illegal equipment on your car doesn't mean it's still legal. They still check for cats which is the big one that is easily detectable.

SO even if you live where there is no emmissions testing, you can still get busted for having no cats.

But, just to add what jrichker said, don't remove anything unless you fully understand what the impact will be on the car and how the computer reacts and makes it run. I still get a chuckle about the kid who removed his O2 sensors because he wanted to ditch all his emmissions stuff and didn't think they were necessary.
