Think I'm gonna be getting a TKO 500...

My tranny is whining like its about to go, 5th gear is grinding, last night i was having a little fun and i heard a loud "CLANG CLANG" at about 4500 rpms. NEedless to say, I'm gonna be needing a new tranny soon. I've pretty much decided on a TKO 500...Here's my parts list

TKO 500
Bellhousing
New driveshaft yoke

I will be using my existing crossmember. Also, I'm gonna put a new clutch in while I'm in there...any recommendations? Car is bone stock as far as the motor is concerned, so I'd like to keep it very drivable with a soft pedal. Also, What is the difference between the 10 spline input and 26 spline input? Any benefits to either one, especially since I will be changing the clutch anyways?

The 26 spline input shaft is stronger, so if your gonna replace the clutch anyway, go with a 26 spline clutch and upgrade to the 26 spline TKO. You will also need some sort of shifter handle, as the TKO shifter doesn't come with a handle. I used a Steeda Tri-Ax handle on mine. Plus 3 quarts of Syncromesh.

Can I use the stock T-5 handle ?

How much will that TKO run you? with all the extra parts including clutch and all, b/c i will be working and replacing parts in that area as well

Bellhousing - 200
Clutch - 200 (approximately)
Driveshaft yoke - 60

All together about 2100...I'm gonna see if I can find a used one around though...

You might be able to make it work somehow. The TKO shifter is a little different, so the stock handle isn't a direct bolt-on.
