Think these heads would be ok for a 347?

I've been looking into CHP'S stroker short blocks and I would love to get the street fighter 347, but I have AFR 165's and don't want to have to buy bigger heads so I might be limited to the 331, would the 165's provide enough flow for a 347? Also my cam is the #19 with 1:7 rockers would it be too small for the 347 as well? Thanks in advance

They could be bigger with a stroker like 185's but you would still wanna get the 347 if that's what you want. Your car will still make more power and torque even if you just have the 165's. If you already have the stuff just keep it.

I was thinking the smaller ports would provide even more velocity and produce even more torque, still might change the cam to a slightly bigger lift cam and run 1:6 rockers instead of the 1:7s so the valve guides wont wear so fast, cant wait to get it done the stock short blocks got over 150,000 on the clock.

You can hog them out a bit and they should be fine.

I would go bigger on both the heads and the cam. Can you port AFRs? I have Trick Flow High Ports and they will probably see some port work in the next year or so.

true I did'nt think about opening them up some, and yeah the cam will get changed I just put the #19 cause I did'nt want any issues with the stock flattops. Also getting a Tweecer to fine tune it, this will definetly keep me busy for awhile, cant wait!!! BTW can somebody let me know about those cams?(Ed) Are they custom grinds? Is there a web site?

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
