Man if I knew that I would have went to work for the shack a little while and picked me up a mach or maybe even a cobra just because how easy it is to get HP.I could have afforded the cobra or the mach either way but I didnt think they were worth that much extra $$$$.Anyways go with the mach, those things are FAST stock.

The weak spot of the current mustang is the interior design. the shifter and the pedals are all put in the wrong places so you can't sit comfortably back in your seat. and the GT seats are terrible.

that said, the mach 1 is a vast improvement power wise over the GT. and it has better seats, too.

for an extra 5k, the mach is worth it. hands down.

I find that the interior is Fine.

What is wrong with the seats? my seats are comfortable to me......and the leather has quality.

dont waste your time getting a mach 1. Get a 02 GT! Just use the 5k that you saved instead of getting the mach 1 and get a kenne bell supercharger kit! DUH! Then you will have cobras (Stock that is) begging for mercy

if u like the '05s consider those also. I personally dont like their body styling, but the interior looks really nice and numbers are great for the price, also I hope they finally fixed this stupid shifter placement. I wish I had arms like a monkey when I drive.

Yes, there are so many good options nowadays. When I bought my car in 2000 my only choice was the GT. (or the Cobra R LOL)

If you can afford the Mach get the Mach. Special ed. and more Hp. If you want to supercharge, save and get the cobra. If you factor in the forged bottom end, the cobra is normally a steal.

P.S. My brother in law bought a wrx last december, for about 26K. I couldn't believe it, told him he should have bought a mach, or for about 3K more a cobra.

He is about 4K into performance mods and still likes how my taillights look. Comparatively the mustang will be worlds cheaper to modify. He spent like 1K on a computer, 1500 on midpipe and catback.

I wish he would wise up, like you have.

Once again you guys are awesome. I went back to the dealer and asked if he had any cobra's he said he did not, but he could get me one for about 30k before the x plan, but the x-plan would not drop it much lower. Also he said that the mach 1 could be had for 24k(6k off the sticker). He has a red one(gorgeous) and a white one(gorgeous) in stock. So for that price I think I want to just go for the Mach 1, yes I want a cobra, no I dont want the insurance or monthly payments for a cobra.

You work for Radio Shack?????

Where do live? I worked for RadioShack, for the headquarter's in Ft. Worth. That is the worst company in the world to work for. To make money, you either have to work in a company store as a Manager(and put up with ALOT of *****) or become a Buyer or Franchise Support here in Ft. Worth. Radio Shack does not value a SINGLE employee. I have never to this day met a person around the DFW area that has ever quit RadioShack. They fire everyone. If they need to adjust the company budget they fire people. Thats the way they work. Radioshack is the DEVIL, man GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN BEFORE YOU FIND YOURSELF WITHOUT A JOB, ALL OF THE SUDDEN!!!! Don't go getting yourself into ANY debt while working for RadioShack because you don't realize how much job security you don't have! Trust me man, they do it to everyone, and they lose all of their unemployment cases because they fire people for no reason. I can give you more examples of people that RadioShack has done this to than you can ever imagine...and I mean people with many years under their belt doing outstanding jobs for the company, and making RadioShack alot of profit. They have no loyalty to ANY employee. Man I can't stress enough to you, how easy it is for you to just walk in one day and not have a job with Radioshack anymore.

BTW...Get the White Mach1, but have your resume updated and ready to go!

ol back to Mustangs sounds bitter as hell. I have worked at 3 different Radio Shacks while I was going to school. (along with many, many other part time jobs through the years )

I think I quit all three. Oh yeah one was great, I was starting back up school and the manager was a gung ho type that was gunning for regional. I had told him about it, but he leaves a message saying to get in here or your fired. So like two days later he left a classic message, telling me how I was the worst employee ever and was always late and all this, oh man what a good laugh. I even saved it and replayed for my GF at the time, what comedy

Okay, enough of my reminiscing. Get that white Mach 1 - I think those look sick 32V V8 = goodness

Radioshack is only my side job, I use it for the benefits mostly. Yes the company sucks, have you ever been to www.radioshacksucks.com? If not you should really check it out its funny. I think I am buying a Red or White Mach 1, and if I can not afford that, a black GT. Either way I will have one in a couple of days. Now I need to find some exhaust stuff, this is my first non-rice car. Hopefully it wont sound like a lawn mower so people dont make fun of me.

You won't have to worry about sounding like a lawnmower bud!
These babies sounds nice with exhaust. Goodluck on getting the Mustang. I agree the Mach 1 is the way to go. I live in Jersey as well, damn is insurance expensive!! I pay $3800 a year for liability on my Dodge truck and Full coverage on my GT. If I bought a cobra, I'd be paying well over 8k in insurance alone. I've gotta sell my truck though.

Anyone wanna buy a Dodge pickup for 14k??

www.radioshacksucks.com is currently shut down. Another example of a compnay that can't stand the heat, so they hire their attorneys to throttle free speech. I worked for Radio Shack for 10 years and I can't agree more that the company is out to screw the employees and the managers more than any other company. Any company that tells their manages that if they don't work 60 hours per week, they are fired. It took 20 years to get that changed. Then the manager gets lauded for screwing the employee. I could spend days telling stories about employee abuses and how they promote managers that lie and cheat.

Okay, now back on to the Mustang. Hold out for a 2005 GT!

As far as I know the Ford rears are still strong from the factory. No need for a $2300.00 10-12 bolt rear.

a 10 bolt is a factory F-body rear end a the 12 bolt is an aftermarket rearend for GM cars that are actually a little smaller than our 8.8s.

I think you are referring to a 9 inch.

Get a Mach one or Cobra if you plan on doing minor mods. If you want to go hardcore, get whatever you want. No problems with these motors, they last over 100k without any problems. Trannies are a hit or miss. Mine hasnt any problems other than the **** I did to it.

Im making over 310 to the wheels with my pretty mild setup.
