Thinking of selling my car for an 03...

I would be worried about buying a used Terminator. Those cars were built to be beat on, and now they've got at least 4 years of beatings in them. That on top of the fact that they're not exactly cheap to work on means I would be thinking long and hard before settling on one.
I'd want the car to be a one-owner car, and for that owner to be a 50+ yrs-old guy that babied it. Just like buying a used Corvette, except there's more babied 'Vettes than Terminators out there.

I would NEVER consider buying a used SRT-4, STI, EVO, Cobalt SS, or Ion Redline. Not only because they're all ghey, but also because they're meant to be purchased by teenagers and college students who will flog the crap out of them.

IMO that can be said about most any mustang, trans am, camaro...ESPECIALLY the V8 Manual transmission cars. I think maybe the autos have a better chance of being built to hell.

Our cars are cheap to get and cheap to work on.

Terminators cost a bit to acquire, and a lot to work on. I'd just be pissed if I had to fix a car that I currently have a loan on.

My dad bought his 04 cobra when he was 46 (3 years ago), and it has 2200 miles. He rarely drives it, but when he does, it's at Texas World Speedway! :Track:

But, i just cant imagine ANY 5-speed V8 mustang that doesnt get beat on. Maybe if its a female owner thats scared of it, but come on, EVERY guy is going to beat on the thing.

Like all of us here...IMO we beat on our cars, BUT we take care of them....

But a babied mustang is hard to come by IMO.....

I'm not disagreeing with you. That was kinda my point though, that buying a used Terminator would scare me because pretty much all Mustangs are beat on.

I've been selling cars at a Chevrolet dealer for about a month. The only Mustang GT we've had in that time had a supercharger bolted on before it was traded in. The owner had to take it off before trade-in. OTOH, we get A LOT of Corvettes that are owned by people in the older crowd.

If I was at a Ford dealer, I'm sure I'd have the opportunity to see more babied Mustangs than I do now. But at the same time I still think the percentage of babied Mustangs over babied Corvettes is a drastically lower percentage. That's the only thing that would scare me about a Terminator considering the money being spent. I hate to say it, since I'm a Mustang guy, but I'd jump on a used 'Vette before a used Terminator if the prices were close. I'm actually looking at getting into a used 'Vette, I just need to talk to my insurance agent since I'm only turning 23 in October.

Now that i agree on. I wouldnt mind a vette at all. And from what i've read their insurance rates are actually cheaper than trans am/camaro rates due to the fact that they are driven by the older crowd and therefore wrecked less often so there's not as many claims being made on them.

I've seen a few two, one girl could race better than 90% of the guys street racing that night. But i think the number that dont or cant GREATLY out do the number that can and o tweak a car.

If you want a terminator, buy a terminator.

No use sinking more money into a non profitable pit if its not what you want.

I love my stang, its sick. I personally prolly wont sell it ever. But it does have 178xxx and counting on the chassis, as clean as it is. I think it looks cooler/just as, a terminator.

But soon you'll have mucho $$ into a car you dont want, that holds no real worth, MUCH MUCH MUCH unlike the 03-04s. They wont be building anymore. To say they arent going to be worth $ is dumb, and I doubt they'll depreciate all that much.

Just go get one and be happy. You only live once.
