So today, the 3rd day we have been working on the tranny swap, we are nearing the end. The T5 is in, just have to bolt in the driveshaft, x-pipe, and some other small stuff.
I have a couple questions though...
1. First, how is the clutch cable routed? Does anyone have any pictures? I can't figure out the best way to route it and I want it to look as stock as possible.
2. Also, is the crossmember the same on the AOD-E and T5 equipped mustangs?
3. The clutch pedal is kind of hard to move even without the cable connected. Is it supposed to be kind of tight?
4. I bought the adjustable cable and quadrant, so how tight is the cable supposed to be?
5. After we torqued the bolts on the pressure plate to 14 ft-lbs, the leaf spring things on it were no longer exerted outwards (towards the rear of the car), now they are pretty much flat, is that how it's supposed to be?
6. Finally, under the dash there were a couple harnesses. Two of them had a connector on the end that was jumpered. On one of them I disconnected the jumper and connected it to the connector near the clutch quadrant. There was also another black connector lying there and I connected it to the other part of the clutch quadrant connector. The other connecter that was jumpered, I just disconnected the end of it so it's not jumpered anymore. Did I make all of the right connections?
